So my party just found the shrine of Kyuss and with an amazing targeted dispel stripped Bozal of everything except invisibility purge (the cleric roll 4 18+ in a row). Anyways they defeated him and the allies and now are trying to figure out what's up with the scrolls and the ray of light.

Here's the question I can't seem to find an answer to (and I may just be blind). How do the PC's find out how to negate/stop the scrolls??? None of them can read the scrolls (writtenin Abyssal) although a comprehend languages can fix that. Even so do the scroll tell you how to shut them down or give enough hints to figure it out? I'd assume there needs to be some spellcraft or knowledge check but can't find any info on how that works regarding the scrolls?

Is is supposed to be trial and error??? How are the PC's supposed to figure out what to do next with the scrolls and the creature awaiting release.

If you look under the description of Spellcraft skill in the PHB, the PCs can identify that the Ultragarasta is being held in a wall of force by making, I think a dc-20 + the spell level check which is a dc-25 spellcraft check, and using detect magic.

The Ultragarasta can be freed by anyone who can take down the wall and the ways listed in the sidebar are the same as those listed in the wall of force spell with the exception of the Turning Undead/Dispel Magic route.

The turning undead way of bringing it down requires a Dc-30 spellcraft check I believe as it is a unique magical effect.
