Druid grab bag

I noticed a little druid discussion in the DM horror stories thread. I love this kind of stuff so please continue it here if you please.

For a druid city-based prestige class, see the Speaker of the City in Cityworks by Fantasy Flight Games.

For an interesting twist on nature magic in a bad way, see Blight Magic by Mystic Eye Games.

I'd have more, but I'm at work right now...(sigh...)...

I almost took out three 8th lvl characters with an 11th lvl druid in arena style combat.

The druid summoned 4 dire wolves, then next round used animal growth. Oh AND he had augment summoning, which I reccommend for any druid

One guy in our group loves playing druids. His latest incarnation is a druid/warshaper/master of many forms. We are 20th level so the gargantuan 20 HD monsters that he can turn into a rediculously gross.
Take for example the chilblain from Frostburn - STR 28, DR 15/silver, fast healing 10, SR 29, damaging cold aura, +23 Natural AC, 5d6+STR plus 2d6 cold for tail and 4 2d6+4 plaus 2d6 claw attacks!! Some of those abilities might be Supernatural and he might not actually get to use them, but you get the point.
This guy is a machine when it comes to melee. Advanced shape shifting druids can do a serious amount of damage and can be invaluable in a hack and slash campaign.
Additionally he is capable of turning into some really small flying stuff capable of sneaking around and the dragon form is kick ass for scouting.

Anyway IMO druids are invaluable all-round characters and can be seriously power-gamed with the right mindset and story background.

Here's a question for y'all - what are your druid's preferred wildshape forms? I've found that they generally fall into a few favorites. My player's druid prefers:

*Wolf or hybrid form (he's a werewolf)
*Giant Eagle (useful for transporting passengers)
*Air Elemental (for quick travel)
*Whale (for water travel)
*Earth Elemental (for a good old-fashioned BEAT DOWN)

I really should put him in a spot where he's forced to be more creative with his wildshaping...

That is so true! Druids don't necessarily have to be nice-n-sweet-treehugging types. Let's think more "Wrath of Nature" types.

Any favored druid spells that your players use in melee? Mine likes:
*Infestation of Maggots - The sheer "ick" factor is the fun part of this.
*Body of the Sun - Undead? We don't need no stinkin' undead!
*Drown - Nothing like stopping a converstation with a watery "Gurck!"
*Any of the "regeneration" spells

So, what are other people's favorites?

My PCs are still pretty low level but that summon insects spell is one that the Druid is annoying me with these days.

Nothing like a swarms of ants, flies, bees, wasps, mosquitoes and gnats to spoil your picnic...
