Now that the NDA for D&D Online is lifted, I wanted to post and see if any other Age of Worms players are also beta testing the D&D Online: Stormreach game.
Our AoW gaming group is forming a guild of DMs (only 1 so far :P) and players to create their AoW characters online and fight alongside fellow AoW players. In between battles we can swap stories of our experiences in the Adventure Path. Is anyone interested in this?
We haven't decided on a name, but we're leaning towards "Diamond Lake Freelancers".
The guild will be divided into 2 main groups: players and DMs. DMs will try to group with other DMs, and players will be divided into subgroups based on their progress in the Adventure Path. As with any guild, we'll have officers who will work with other guilds to find the right type of players for "pick up groups" if players are having difficulty finding enough players in our guild at any given time.
As the game launch approaches we'll announce the website and the chosen server. The server will probably be a roleplay server, and the pace of the guild will be slower and "chattier" than most.
My players are currently in the middle of Champion's Belt. They keep asking me how other groups are doing, since they know the game is being run by lots of other DMs. I know some of you are afraid that this might open a can of spoilers for your groups, but as you well know it's very easy to spoil these games. If you feel your group isn't mature enough to join without avoiding spoilers then please steer them away for your group's sake. If you think they are up for the challenge of seeing their AoW characters online and bragging about them to fellow AoW players then please let us know.

Wow, thanks Erik! I'll let you know in the next month or so how enrollment goes.
We have a site for anyone interested. Please apply here:

I have also registered the following domain; it should be available in the next day or two for use:

I was looking at the site, looking for system requirements...I could not find them.
I could not find them either...but it is still in beta so I am thinking they are not sure yet. I pre-ordered it and downloaded the beta version. It took a couple hours complete with updates when logging in. I had some problems video wise, but a quick check at Sapphire website got me a set of updated drivers and then no problem since.
I am running an XPpro machine with;
Athalon xp1800+ processor
756 MB of Ram
Radeon 9600 Atlanitis Video card with 256MD DDR ram onbaord
Onboard sound
Hope this helps you.

Okay, I want to play this game, but I don't know if my modem can handle it. Do you need a broadband connection to play, or will a 56k modem do? Other than the modem, I should meet all of the system requirements.
Squid
I've heard it was a little sketchy. The release notes for the upcoming beta patch (5.0) are supposed to make 56K significantly smoother.
If you have a local Gamestop or Software Etc, you can pick up the 10-day beta for $5.
Several people registered for the guild but I haven't seen any board activity over there. Does anyone have beta access?
