I'm having trouble coming up with some cool roleplaying hooks for a PC. I can tell that he is not enjoying the three other players getting a lot of fun RP time with their families and organizations when I have nothing for him. The truth is that I'm totally uninspired and unable to come up with something with his connections.
He is playing a NG female dwarven wizard//aristocrat which has been working like an eldrich knight. The next time we game we are going through some down time between the first and second adventure. I have already done a cool side quest for one and have something plannned for the others.
She is niece of Zenith Stoneshield. She has seen his statue in the Malechite fortress. Obviously there will be some RP opportunity in the upcoming adventures, but I need something now.
She has been making donations to the church of Wee Jas and buying magic items, but he hasn't been getting the cool discount that the others have been receiving through the church of St. Cuthburg/Pelor.
I would like to have something for her through the church of Wee Jas. Gaining the attention of a worshiper/clergy and the possibility of a side quest, such as helping the church in some manner. But I'm drawing a blank.

Well, since you are focusing on the church, and said she is buying and selling magic items there, they could have some kind of sidequest for her related to investigating the Vanishing within Jzadirune. Perhaps a gnomish clergyman wants some protection and aid investigating a "secret" vault within Jzadirune (or perhaps to make sure the real entrance is not unearthed).
Maybe throw in hints at the spellweavers magic being responsible for the Vanishing, or even hint at the Kopru (whose ruins are close to the gnomish enclave). Both groups being tangentially important later.
If you use the search for the real entrance, you can have that lead into Drakthar's Way by having them meet some Half-orc mercenaries or some of D's graffitti goblins in the caves below the city (or both).
