The New Stat Block

Dungeon Magazine General Discussion

True, someone already startet a thread about this subject, my my question is different enough I think it warrants a new thread.

How many of you use the new stat-block while writing your own adventures? I try to use it as it saves alot of time in-game. But at the same time I find the new format hard to adjust to while writing making the writing part take alot longer.

I converted all the stats up to my current adventure for the shackled city adventure path. They work like a dream.

I always do.

Behind my two DM screens I keep the adventure, a big bloc-notes to keep track of fights and notes and whatever, the minis of NPCs and creatures, a large glass of water/sofdrink (a talkative DM has a constant dry throat), three sets of dice, a pencil, some felt-tipped pens to draw on the vinyl battlemat... and not much room. ;)

So having to wrestle with the Monster Manual to look at the stats and feats and abilities of the various nasties is a major hassle.
Having them integrated on the pages of the adventure is always a plus. Maybe not time-saving, but it's definitevely more pratical.
The time it takes to write them down is not wasted at all.
