Hi all. My husband loves Axis & Allies and he likes minis, so I was thinking of getting him the new minis game for Xmas. I'm wondering if anyone has tried it and has any feedback. Also, does anyone know if the starter set is enough for one person to play? (i.e. if we want to play over Xmas, should I get him 2 starter packs, one for him and one for his opponent, and maybe a few booster packs?)
Thanks!

Amber,
The miniatures for that game are absopositively beautiful. I haven't played the game yet, so I will in fact withhold my judgment of the game (an opinion formed while reading the rules). ;)
You can play A&A minis right out of the starter box in the same way you can play D&D minis right out of the starter box or MTG right out of the tournament box. You obviously won't have anything resembling a maximized mix of units, but you'll have enough to play.
So yeah, a player can begin playing with just one starter. Of course boosters will just help with the mix.
Lastly, if you do get them for him I'll have to talk to you about trades. (I'm a painful FOUR minis away from a complete collection of the starting set. AAARGH!!!)

Ha! I will, but I want to try to trade to get rid of some of my extras first... ;D
