Hey all,
Just read the Champion's Belt but don't have it with me right now so I don't have specific names.
In the first gladiator battle, there is a group with a swashbuckler (outsider) who uses a scimitar with the Weapon Finess feat.
My question, "Is this legal?"
I've looked at Weapon Finess and find nothing about using a scimitar with this feat. A scimitar is not a light weapon and is not specifically called out as an acception like a rapier or spiked chain. I even looked at the SRD wondering if they'd updated the feat but such is not the case.
Now I understand the rational for house ruling this. The difference between a scimitar and a rapier is slashing vs. piercing and about 2 pounds (IIRC). But since this is Dungeon and 100% D&D (or is that Dragon who makes that claim???) I'd think they'd want to stick to the rules as written.
Here's a second question. "Is there any official source that says you can use Weapon Finess with a scimitar?" I'd love for that to be true.
All right that's enought. Thanks in advance.

The NPC in question is Korush. Normally, you can't use a scimitar with Weapon Finesse, but Korush has a new feat, "Graceful Edge," that allows him to do just that. The feat itself appearas on page 44 of the adventure, in the sidebar.
Dungeon is indeed 100% official D&D; every issue has to be approved by Wizards of the Coast.
There's at least one other WotC product that allows the scimitar to be used with Weapon Finesse; that would be the dervish prestige class from Complete Warrior.
