I've just read through Mr Baker's article in Dragon 337 on the Lords of Dust. A Rakasha Overlord seems to me just perfect to replace Kyuss with in order to make the game more eberron-centric. That would of course change aspects of the Ebon Triad, but I was leaning toward replacing them with Cults of the Dragon Below anyway.
Anyone have any thoughts and/or opinions of the idea?
Sounds cool. Something like this occured to me after I read the LoD article. It would help the AP to feel more Eberron-centric. The only potential problem if, say in the last installment of the AP, the PCs had to fight Kyuss and defeat him, because the overlords are definitely more powerful than he would be then. (This is all assumption, so don't blame me if I am completly incorrect.)
Anyway, pretty good idea. When I run the AP, assuming I run it in Eberron, I'll use a variation of this idea.

Did you read the entry for the last Overlord? Katashka the Gatekeeper? In the official Eberron conversion Kyuss = LoD Overlord.
