I have been looking into Fantasy Grounds for a little while now, in the interest of using it to host adventures for a long term game after I return from deployment. Has anyone here used Fantasy Grounds? What was your experience like? I think the pdf enhancements that paizo has been offering of late will make the program even easier to use. Is there another program out there even better than Fantasy Grounds for hosting a tabletop game online? If so, where can I find it. How about Ghost Orb? I am a little leary of monthly fees, but if it works great then so be it. Any feedback anyone is able to provide is greatly appreciated.

Hey Tambryn,
I am currently deployed as well stationed at Balad AB, LSA Anaconda. My shop and I are using Fantasy Grounds to run a deployed adventure, it's nice because we don't need any books or dice! For a long range campaign I have never seen anything better. It does add some strain to the DM as far as prep goes and needing to be a fast typeist. But it removes a lot of strain as well. Most any question that arises can be quickly cross referenced and answered using the included source books. We got ours from rpgnow.com If you do I highly recomend also purchasing the full SRD which will run about 5.00 more. There are no monthly fees so you don't have to wory about that. Good luck in your games, SrA Tate

Thanks for the reply. I have been through Balad a few times over the last year. I am still considering FantasyGrounds, though we will see if it is necessary first. I am currently in Kuwait, the Kuwaiti Naval Base actualy. Loading our equipment onto a ship and getting ready to head home. It is an awesome feeling when you know you only have 7 days left in country.
