So, last night we pitted the PCs against the three hags ... man, they are tough! If the bard didn't have a satchel of protection from evil spells to deal with the confusion and dominate person effects, I can see how the PCs would have been scuppered! How did others find this encounter?

The starry mirror puzzle threw the PCs right off ... mayhem, mayhem, mayhem ... thinking? I ended up tweaking the puzzle to be githyanki runes, but I kept the heart of the puzzle the same. It took them a good half-hour of trying different combinations. What were your experiences?

Now we're heading into the climactic battle. I've replaced Nabotharon with an undead druid, but after that ... they'll get the prophesy not to return to Cauldron, but they'll need to R&R and build magic items before diving into the Test of the Smoking Eye ... how did you guys deal with that one?

My group had a hard time with the hags. Confusion on the two melee heavies was a problem, as was the forcecage on the druid. One of the hags ended up escaping in the end.

They did well with the puzzle. One of the PCs, the dwarf fighter, went in the mirror chasing a nerra, and got himself lost until the others figured it out and went inside and started yelling directions to him. The dwarf tried leaving a copper coin on the floor of the room and then going through the mirror to see if the coin would be in the next room, sort of like leaving a trail of breadcrumbs. He never got his copper back and he still bemoans his lost copper piece.

As for the prophecy, they simply took up temporary residence in Redgorge in one of the many empty houses.
