Other options for AofW Campaign Setting?

Age of Worms Adventure Path

Liberty's Edge

I see that several people have posted on setting AoW in Greyhawk, Eberron, or Forgotten Realms. Is anyone using any of the other campaign settings?

I want to run AoW for my gaming group, and I was thinking that Kingdoms of Kalamar would actually be a good setting choice. Kyuss might even be a long-forgotten name of The Rotlord. Diamond Lake could be more interesting given the types of tensions that exist between the various human ethnicities as well as the other races.

So let me have it. Am I crazy, wasting my time, or is it a perfectly viable option? BTW, if you agree with the third choice, I'd appreciate additional suggestions if you're familiar with KoK.

I suggested Ghostwalk in another thread. Never worry about death again! KoK is kind of silly. Arcanis is cool but doesn't fit the style well. Scarred Lands is one I would seriously consider. In Ravenloft, it would probably be underwhelming; stuff like that happens all the time ("Age of worms? Who cares? We just finished the age of liches!") Planescape could work if you made the Free City Sigil and located the adventures throughout the various planes. Maybe Blackwall Keep is a demiplane that borders the Outlands and Gehenna? In Dark Sun I imagine it would be untenable because it's already a pretty bleak world. In Rokugan it could wind up being pretty silly. Make all your bad guys ninja. I don't know enough about Gamma World to make the call.

On a totally unrelated note, I really like your screen name. I don't see as many references to Celtic folklore these days as I should.

How about d20 Modern/Cthulhu? It'd be a creature-feature for sure! Diamond Lake fits anywhere, any country. Whispering Cairn works as written, don't even have to change the opening encounter. Three Faces works (perhaps with all-human cultists, but it's still feasible as written). Blackwall Keep would require a rehaul of the "keep" (perhaps it's a hangar at a remote airfield), but the swamp lair would be really wierd.

A swamp lair wouldn't be all that weird, the hangars I work out of, are less than an hour walk away from a swamp

Caught any lizardfolk yet?

Nice indeed. You could even have the "grimlocks" be degenerate cannibal human cultists, a la Lovecraft.

Nope, no lizardfolk yet. They're just too good at going back into the swamp after their raids. Plus, we would get into a lot of trouble for going over the fences around the swamp
