I haven't even started the campaign and I've already started thinking about the end. What would it take to get Cauldron back to a semblence of its past self? I'm not talking about a pristine, it's-never-been-touched Cauldron, but a city where there aren't massive gaps in the streets, the southeast section is pretty much intact and the lake isn't 200 feet lower.
(By the way, with the lake 200 feet lower, there's no way the there are cascading waterfalls in the southeast corner of New Cauldron as described on the post-eruption map.)

30 seconds and I'm already replying to my own post. :-)
At the end of the book, the PCs and several of the NPCs are near epic level. They potentially have access to miracle and wish, not to mention lesser spells. How effective would a miracle or wish be at rebuilding the town? I imagine it would take several to make any kind of a difference. What other spells could be used and how effective will they be, given the extensive damage to the southeast part of town?
Thanks in advance!

A monument could be erected about the event.

The cascading waterfall also appeals to me so I am going to reason that the eruption/event caused the 'underground river/steam' to change course and pour into the lake thus fuelling the waterfall. I'm not sure how realistic this is but the imagery of the waterfall is a nice touch. Symbolizing the rebirth of the city from the distaster.
Just my idea though of course

Very good. Now that would give the players a thrill of a lifetime if nothing else would!
