The Brothers Grimm.. a good fantasy like movie?

Off-Topic Discussions

Just by watching the movie trailer I was quite awed by it. In fact, it could rate as good as LOTR.

Much to my surprise I discovered that Terry Gilliam is the director! I loved when he made Time Bandits.

This movie is going to be awesome! Can't wait to see it.

Gilliam is god.

I'm not expecting it to rate even on the same scale as LOTR but I'll definitely see it in the theaters.

I saw the LOTR films a few times each. Manly men in the theater were reduced to tears during Return of the King. It was the right movie at the right time and was incredibly executed. Let's see how long it is before anything in the fantasy realm wins another Best Picture Oscar.

I doubt Brothers Grimm will have pathos, and that it will speak to our truest fears. It'll probably be like Van Helsing but hey, good enough for me to have a blast in the theaters and pick up the DVD.

I wonder if Matt Damon, playing a european linguist, will lose that Boston accent? ;)

from the short flashes they put on the commercials it looks like it would be worth checking out.

Terry Gilliam will do somthing special with this movie. It might look like van helsing or sleepy hollow, but Gilliam is a master and he will mold the film into somthing watchable and "fresh" for the genre-you wait and see.

I saw the movie, it was good, but not as good as LOTR. ^_^

It's a fun movie. It might be good for a fun adventure arc, but nothing as epic as LOTR that would bring me to tears(the movie, not the campaign).

I could probably find examples from the type of challenges and magical abilities if I had a lot more generic rulebooks.

Randy your avatar image is discusting, why the hell did you pick it? Oh and the Brothers Grimm movie was okay, (meaning the actors aren't going to win any oscars any time soon).
Well I'm in my communications class right now and life is pretty boring at the moment. Any suggestions?

I chose it because the simple logic "Who doesn't love an intellect devourer?"

I do! They're so cute and huggable - I want a plushie of them! (Hey, they made Cthulhu into a plushie...)

I want a real one. Seriously.

But back on topic, I tried tooling around with the idea of a Brothers Grimm campaign. I soon realized the lack of any decent monsters(the best being a gibbering mouther), so I drop kicked it to the bottom of the "Rainy Day" files. Those are handwritten, so I can't read them 30 minutes after I write them.
