Hm this is an old thread but do you still need or have room for gamers?
Hey there. I read your post and I just started DMing the AoW campaign last week (we barely started it) with my regular group and we might be looking for one more (as we only have three players right now and it is best with four). However there are a few things:
1) We're very mature players and only looking for another mature player (mostly in our late 30s with kids/families/that whole thing).
2) Because of the length of the campaign we're going to try to meet at least once every week (perhaps every other week). So we're looking for someone who can make a comittment to a long-term campaign.
3) We play in Manhattan (around East 22nd street) often on Thursday or Friday nights, just to let you know if that is going to be an issue.
4) Our group is definately the "very careful, think about things before we act, careful planning" type of group. Even the hardest of puzzles rarely cause these guys to flinch, after gaming for 25+ years they know all the tricks in the book and they are not "back in the door" type of players.
5) I am assuming that you know the 3.5 rules fairly well and also that you know nothing about the AoW campaign at all? These guys won't do anything to ruin the surprise and won't read any boards or anything to keep the surprise intact. So we're looking for another player like that, no peaking at any AoW materials!
And .... well, that's about it. Let me know what you think and if you might be interested and if you'll fit into our campaign. We're most likely going to meet again this week and we're really looking for a good 4th player.
Write back and let me know, thanks!

I just moved into manhattan, the lower east side. I'm truthfully here to do an internship; whether I'm here beyond the next six weeks will depend on my job prospects. My gut tells me to lie to you about this but I'd rather be dissapointed by rejection now rather than dissapoint you should I be unable to stay. Well I can't say that I'm as mature as y'all; only a 22 year old baby. My campaigns at school were crash-thru-the-door style and I've been wanting to do some bit more thoughtful gaming. Once a week is great for me, especially if it's on a weekend night. I started gaming during 2nd edition and have been playing 3.0 and 3.5 since they came out. I know nothing about AoW, though I hear that it's a pretty tough AP. Hope to hear from ya soon, I'm just itching to play!

So I guess you've decided that I won't be a good enough player for your campaign. I wasn't depending on gaming with y'all, I just thought that you would have the courtesy to tell me 'Sorry dude, spoke too soon; we actually have enough gamers right now.' But hey, that's the internet for me.
Sorry I didn't post back but as was mentioned in my original post I am looking for a long term player and six weeks isn't long enough (considering we are looking for someone who can play in a 1-2 year campaign). Sorry.

Thanks for telling me; it's so frustrating to think that I could be gaming if it weren't for the possibility that maybe you had just forgotten to check this thread. In any case, if I end up permanently in NYC after my internship is done in 6 weeks I'll post again in the hopes that you still need another player.

Just an update-after two TPKs in the Three Faces of Evil, our game has moved onto a similar but somewhat less lethal adventure from Necromancer Games (The Lost City of Barakus).
Currently, we're maxed out at six players, but if openings appear, I'll repost.
