Hi,
I'm a big fan of shorter adventures that can be played in one session, and was re-reading some of my Dungeon back issues, looking for such adventures.
"Buzz on the Bridge" fits this bill, and I think it will be a fun adventure to run.
But I am not sure where to place the queen bee on the bridge. Is the bridge itself the "hive" or is the hive in one of the wax wall sections from the 4 panel scale map?
I believe it would be for former, but want some opinions about it.
Thanks, all!

I placed her at the end of the bridge furthest from the PCs. It was a fun adventure (although the bees self-destruct when the hit the PCs, so it's a little frustrating, too, from the PC point of view - damn, I don't get revenge! - and I had a blast playing all the halflings.

Hi there, I'm the author of "Buzz" and I'm glad you like it.
The queen should be located in the back of the bridge at the farthest point from the PCs' entrance.
Since she's a queen, she needs a little more room to lay eggs.

And please, let me know how the session turns out. It's really neat to hear what happens.
One person I know who ran the adventure said that his party had completely stocked up on antitoxin prior to the adventure, which essential wiped out any threat the bees posed! D'oh!

Sheesh! Where'd they manage to find all that antitoxin in the area, and at third level? (assuming the PCs were 3rd level, that is)
Any more adventures to be published in the near future, John?

With my fiance, it became a matter of lining up the PCs in order of Fortitude saving throws. Only two stings ended up being perilous for the party, and the recovery was almost harder than the fight. The queen bee was the real frustration, as the rogue/fighter with two weapon fighting was the fella with the bad effects from the poison, and the monk has a vow of poverty and as such had no ranged attacks, so he had to walk right up to it. Sting. Sting. Sting...
He had fun with it, and it was a fun quick adventure.

While I like the new "3 adventures per issue" policy, I do wish Dungeon would print more short one-session adventures.
Or is it a case they get few of that type in the submissions?
(Hmm...maybe I should dust off that one I have laying around...)

I doubt they could not find space to do shorter adventures even with 3 adventures per issue as the norm. There are always adventures that are oversized - I'm sure that the editors are glad to have as many short adventures around as possible that can be slotted in after an epic takes up half normally available space.
