I've been doing some crazy calculations lately. For instance, I have figured out that I spent roughly $440 dollars on gaming materials since 3.0 came out, and this is not counting Dungeon/Dragon magazines. Lord knows how much I've spent before that.
I begrudge not a single penny.
If I used the price of a single issue of Dungeon magazine, $7, as a single Dungeon Unit (DU), then I have spent roughly 62.5 DU on 3.0/3.5 D&D gaming.
Also, I bought a rowing machine last month. Total cost = 28 DU
I went to Chili's for dinner wiht my fiancee Friday night. Total cost = 5 DU
I drank at least 10 DU worth of diet soda in the last month.
If I ever get an adventure published in Dungeon, and it runs just over 10,000 words, I'll get paid 72 DU.
Lunch at Micky D's is about .75 DU.
One pair of Nike's cost about 23 DU these days. Wow!

Yeah! Right now, this is what I'm lookin' at:
1 issue of Dungeon = 1 full DU. . . plus, I JUST got #125 last week. Still, my local gaming shop doesn't have alot of DUs to throw around, so I gotta stick with them.
In perspective, 1 DU worth of money is nothing much to blink at. I just bought a 12 pack of good beer on my way home from work, and it's going to be comsumed by my gaming group. Almost 2 DU's down the drain. . .
Plus, add another DU for chip's n' queso dip.

I've never had that before. My favorite Stouts (so far) are Bell's Trumpeter Stout and Sam Smith's Oatmeal Stout. Both are horribly expensive though. . . there's a bar in Indianaplis called the Rathsgellar that'll sell you a pint of Oatmeal Stout for 1.5 DU. Ouch.
