Who does this art?

Dungeon Magazine General Discussion

Hi all,
I was just woundering, I'm a tatooist I have been looking through all the dungeon mags and seeing a lot of new cartoon style monsters on the table of contence pages. Like the beholder I have as my icon here. Who does this stuff? Is there a web page I can see all of what they have done? Is there by chance a set of the iconic characters? I have copied a few and added them to my collection of avalable tatoos and they seem to be selling like crazy to a lot of hard core D&D gamers. I would just like to offer the whole line and give credit where credit is due.

Kyle Hunter does the little monster cartoons.

He maintains a gallery of the images here:

though I would certainly advise getting his permission before using the images as tattoo designs.

Hey, I think that's really cool! I'd love to see photos! If anyone dies, I get dibs on those patches of skin. Frankly, I really enjoy doing those monsters, and am available to do some on request for the public at reasonable rates. I'd love to see these critters as little plastic figurines someday.

Since he seems to have given his blessing, I want to note that my favorite of his little cartoons are:

Osquisp
Stirge
Demogorgon
Aboleth

I love those things... I'm afraid to ask what a "reasonable" rate for a custom one is though.

$30 for a hi-res digital file. If you want a hard copy, I'd just need y'all to cover the cost of the print and postage. Haven't been to Kinkos in a while, but could likely get them on pretty nice paper/cardstock.

Send me an e-mail if you want to discuss particulars

I have to agree, I love Kyle's little monsters (I know I should show my proper appreciation by having one as an avatar, but, well, there ya go). It is always fun to open a new Dungeon and see these reinterpretations of D&D classics.
Hey! I've got a great idea! Seriously! Why not make a mini-game (like used to appear in Dragon long, long ago) to insert in Dungeon, following a dungeon theme, with all of Kyle's creations duking it out to control the dungeon! Or something! Too many exclamation points?!
Not yet! I have been getting ready to see my eight year old nephew in a couple of weeks and play the D&D basic game. I would love a simple two person game that "looks" D&D that he and I could play. It gets difficult trying to convince my sisters and their SOs to play D&D with us.
OK, that was a weird tangent. My apologies. I really just wanted to chime in and say I love Kyle's art. Oh, and I have really been enjoying Downer - keep it up sir!
