I’m an 11th level divine caster (8level cleric, 3 level church inquisitor). For 12 level I’m thinking of taking craft contingent spell feat from complete arcane. I’m more of a worrier type cleric and like going into battle buffed up. Is the feat worth the XP and gold price per spell? Any suggestions on the best spells to have contingent on me and what there trigger should be?

There are three ways to use this feat:
1. Add in normal spells that come up infrequently, set to the appropriate conditions. For example, a Neutralize Poison set for when you get poisoned. Word of Recall is good for this, as are Wizard spells that you get other casters to add to the item creation process.
2. Abuse the fact that contingent spells are basically cast spells that don't have a casting time. You might be tempted to do a "power-up" suite of spells like Divine Power or Divine Favor, but that's too expensive in GP and XP for the payoff. You are better off with like 12 preset Flame Strikes (set to hit something a preset number of feet away from you), and then you just "win" one battle a game. Set them to you saying single words (which would be a free action). Then you can shoot 2-12 Flamestrikes as needed.
3. Abuse the fact that they are items, and summon an Efreet to cast a Wish to put Contingent Spells on you at no GP or XP cost, and without you having to take an entire feat. (Efreet cast Wishes as a spell-like abilty, so it costs no XP to cast Wishes that make magic items. Wishes ignore GP cost for making magic items and feat requirements, so you end up with yet another source of free power.)

The above choices are, in descending order, more likely to make your DM try to kill you out of hand.
Good luck!
