Any information on the "scientific cult"/ "order of monks" who once used it? Were they monks in the PC class sense or the "monastic" sense? Were they devotees of Celestian?
Was the observatory built by the order? The text implies that the observatory was occupied by the cult "about a century ago," but this doesn't mean they built it. Does the place have any connection to the Grey College Observatory in Greyhawk?
How long ago did the sect die out? The text says "decades," but I was hoping for something more exact.

If there isn't a connection between the the old Observatory and the order of monks found at the Twilight Monastery to be discussed in the next adventure/online supplement, I'll probably be creating one. They sound too similar to not be linked in the history of Diamond Lake, better yet, there may be a link to the cult as well. Cthulhu mythos? The stars are right.

I like where you're going with this.
Before reading deeply enough into the AoW background to learn of Kyuss' backing, I was sort of hoping AoW would be an abberation based adventure path. Lords of Madness deserves a flagship adventure.
Very well. I'll do it myself.

Someone played a cleric of Celestian in a previous campaign so I interjected some trappings of a temple, but nothing more specific than that.
It certainly makes sense that Celestian's clergy would build it but they would also have significant reasons for choosing that particular spot.
I kinda doubt it has much relevance to the AP.
