I play a 12 level cleric of St Cuthbert with spell storing on my morning star. Whats the best spell to put on my weapon?

i like hold person (makes for easy hostages) or inflict serious (for a nasty touch)... but both of these allow a save. spell storing only allows 3rd level spells, so...

if you have a mage in the party, buy him/her a scroll of vampiric touch (if not already in the book of said caster) and have them cast it on your weapon. at 12th level it's a no-save extra 6d6, which then re-fuels your hp in return.

For non-Core books, I'd go with Wrack from the Complete Divine, a cleric spell that causes the enemy to be helpless with a failed Fort Save, or I'd go with Shivering Touch, a no save spell from Frostburn that causes 3d6 Dex damage, which is enough to paralyze almost anything.

Core spells for clerics are a little iffy, but Bestow Curse is nice if you choose the "lose 50% of their actions" option.

Blindness/deafness is a very potent spell with multiple benefits for you and lots of penalties for him/her/it. Yeah, an inflict spell is nice and if you have a mage that can cast something into it for you, I suggest ray of enfeeblement. Vampiric touch is pretty decent, but a little iffy for a cleric of St. Cuthbert, IMO. Yes, ROE is also a necromancy spell, but one that only weakens the subject for like a couple minutes or so, not one that sucks the life out of the creature.

Anyway, those are my thoughts.

I use touch of idiocy because it is great for stoping spellcasters and to soften them up for will based save spells

AND idiocy is a nice 'comment' coming from a cleric who venerates a god of common sense...

Well, if there's a druid present, I'm always fond of POISON. This is especially viable for a maneuvering martial character (tumble past meat shields and use Spring Attack to drop a POISON effect on an arcane caster) HE HE HE!

Gavgoyal lol thats all i have to say on that
but a fighter with a spell storing full blade cuts thru spellcasters like that killer bunny in monty pythons holy grail

I'm not sure if this would work but it might be fun to put a Flesh to Stone spell on it. Of course, then you would have to go to the expense of buying a chisel...

Or if you don't like that I think a Disintegrate spell would have some pretty cool effects.

cant you only store spells that are third lvl or lower and that are touch spells

Ray of Enfeeblement is always one of the best, I have to agree. And since you are playing a Good aligned cleric, it won't go against any of your beliefs, which in turn could cause you to lose favor with your god. Paralyzing touch is one that I have used before too. Just remember that as a good cleric, you must think through killing oppenents if you can. Follow that rule and you'll be safe!
