'Lords of Madness' binding issues . . .

3.5/d20/OGL

I just got my copy of 'Lords of Madness' in the mail today . . . And the defective binding is making it difficult to get wrapped up in the book . . .

Did anyone else have any issues with the binding not holding up? In my case, the front cover is flopping loose whenever I open the book. I MAY be able to add a drop or two of glue, but for a hardcover from Wizards', I'd expect a bit better, you know?

Does anyone know if Wizards has a customer return policy or anything like that?

Well, waaaay back when I got my first copy of the 3.0 PHB, it had several sections of pages inserted upside-down, making for a pretty hard read. Anyway, after e-mailing CS, I just boxed it up, and they sent me a new one pronto.

The only concern I'd have with LoM is all of the copies I have seen here in town had pretty poor binding; I just picked the best from the lot. ie- It seems to be a bigger problem than a random book or two, so they may be a little harsher on the return? Anyway, it is definately worth a try.

I have a bit of a binding issue with my copy also. It was the only copy there at B&N so I had no choice but its not that big of a deal. I also noticed that the paper that it was printed on was a little different then the other books I own. Like it was not as good a quality as the others. Its the same thing in the Races of Ebberon book with the paper.

I had problems with my Lords of Madness too, but this is hardly the place to ask questions about a WotC product. Personally, I think you probably have a snowballs chance in hell of getting WotC to give you a new copy that isn't also defective (I just think they have all been poorly bound), but you could always try ringing customer service or logging onto the customer service section of their website. Again, I think your chance of getting a good/perfect copy is fairly tiny if not impossible, especially since the entire print run was probably bad.

In a rare spot of luck, I seemed to have purchased the copy that held together despite my eager pageturning.

It has been splayed wide on many an occasion and never broken. Can't say the same for my lady. She's on life support now. Poor thing.
