becoming a playtester

Dungeon Magazine General Discussion

Hi everybody.
I've been lurking around on the boards for some time now and figured that now was a time to actually register!.

I have a question regarding playtesting, or rather how to -become- a playtester for dungeon magazine.
Don't know if this is the right place to post it - guess I'll have to wait and see.
Okay I'll get to the point:

What does it take to become a playtester?

The best way to become a playtester for Dungeon right now is to know a DM who's getting an adventure published in the magazine. We don't have an organized playtesting program for Dungeon at this time, mostly because there's simply no time and barely any resources to implement a playtesting program.

Ah I see. Thank you for the quick response

That cleared things up for me :)

That's what I did. I worked with an author or two. Sent them write-ups of adventures of theirs I had played. They liked what I did, and began to send me modules to playtest, and books to be published to give the player's/DM's read over. I sent them copious notes, comments and recomendations. Apparently they've liked what came out of my sessions and asked me to playtest for them again. It is always interesting to read through a published adventure that I playtested, and compair the original text and see the changes.

Chicks also dig it when I show them my name in the published adventure as playtester...OK, maybe not so much, but playtesting is still alot of fun.

ASEO out
