My party is about to enter bhal-hamatugn and several of the PC's are good. How dose the magic circle against good work in room 5? i know they must make their DC 17 will save to enter the room... but i have a few questions about that
1: dose this only affect good charaters? what about true nutral?
2: How long until they can try and enter the room again?
3: what is the affect if the fair? is it like hitting a wall for them?
just thought that i would be all ready for my sunday session

I think some major poetic license was used to create the statue artifact. I'll tell you right now - I don't like it.
First off, neither the unhallow or magic circle spells prevent someone from entering the space. That's for SUMMONED creatures only. Even at 6th-8th level, someone is bound to fail a DC 17 Will save. Then what? Are they out for the whole adventure? The module doesn't say when it can be attempted again. Very poor design IMO. I'm thinking about completely removing it.
Just to make it simple, I would just say that any non-good creature in Area 5 gains the effects of Prot from Good. I would also prevent any good creatures from being summoned into area 5 as well.

By the way, I'm not going to have any updates or changes for Zenith Trajectory by this weekend but I've pretty read the whole thing. Here's what I plan to change:
Area 7. Mangh-Mictho: I'm going to make him a Clr5/Sea Mother Whip 3 (from the FR Underdark book). I'll definitely be changing his feats and spells as well. Plus, the Underdark book lets kuo-toas use the pincer staff as a martial weapon rather than exotic. He needs some nasty, evil spell-feats. Maybe even from the Book of Vile Darkness. ;>)
Area 9E. Hlanamm: Rog5 is kind of boring. Not sure what to do with him yet. And why does every major kuo-toa have Alertness? Boring.
Area 14. Dhorlot: Oh yeah, this is where the fun starts. Black dragons are my favorite and since this is the first encounter the players will have with a dragon in the AP, he's definitely getting a boost.
2 Weapon Focus feats? Uh-uh, I don't think so. Right off the bat, he's getting Clinging Breath from the Draconomicon. Pure nastiness. Not sure what else but I'll figure something out. I might tweak his spells a little. I'll probably throw another item in his hoard too.
Also, I really want to use the Inquisitor of the Drowning Goddess PrC from Underdark for a grappling monk kuo-toa. My players hate being grappled so what better way to make their day than to throw a kuo-toa with bonuses to grapple?

This dose give me some ideas but i don;t have the underdark book... witch sucks... also i may not beable to game this weekend so we may be bumping it back until next sunday... witch would be cool because i would love to see what you come up with... But i think i will be giving all of the Kuo-toas pincer staffs so that the party will get tired of them quick...
Thanks for the ideas

I will start running "Zenith Trajectory" on monday and I'm also making Mangh-Michto into a cleric 5/sea mother whip 3. I'm also considering making Zenith into a fighter 4/ranger 2/dwarven defender 2/deepwarden 2 fighting with 2 dwarven waraxes.
About the magic circle: the characters don't need any will save to enter the room, but anyone they attack there gains +2 to AC and +2 on saves against their spells.

I had the characters attempt to enter each round. Enough of them failed their first attempt that it did a good job spreading them out. I had the DC17 check apply to all characters who were not evil in alignment

My party was Evil, so I have nothing to offer as far as advice...they had no issues with it and fought a mighty battle with the Kuo Toa as written (I just doubled their numbers); Two of them almost got caught in Mangh-Michto's room and drowned, but one of them (an Evil Werebear) made his roll and lodged himself in the doorway before it closed, allowing the other one to swim over him and getting out with some help in the door by the two half-dragons in the party (at the time).
The summoned Devil gave them two full minutes of hell all over the room; it was good for the group that three of them were flight-capable, or she would've kept them at range until they were all dead.
