A sticky dungeon

Dungeon Magazine General Discussion

Know what might be neat? If you Dungeon-guys stuck a dungeon in Dragon. (Literally!)

Like a 10 page separate, complete, stapled dungeon that is sticky-glued in the middle of Dragon--where the posters go.

Sticky-glued so it could be yoinked-out.

That would be hella-cool.

Speaking of sticky glue: where do you get the stuff? I'd like to try to get my hands on some to try to temporarily glue maps down on my table. (Sorry for the off-topic nature of this question, but I've been looking all over for the stuff. I figured that a magazine that actually uses it might be able to tell me.)

Back on topic: Why in Dragon? Why not in Dungeon?

Why not in Dungeon? Well, Dungeon already has lots of dungeons and adventures and Dragon doesn't.

I was thinking that an adventure inserted into Dragon would make a nifty, useful freebie. And heck...maybe Dragon readers would see how cool Dungeon adventures look and how well-written and exciting they are these days and would pick-up a copy of Dungeon afterwards.

PS: Have you tried rubber cement? You might goop a little on a counter-top, let it dry a few minutes, then peel it up and use it where you need it. (Test it out first, though--it might not come off your maps.) Or you could laminate you maps and use rubber cement right out of the bottle to temporarily hold-down your maps.

Dragon is now for players, not DM, as you'll notice that the submission guidelines specifically say that articles for DMs will be rejected. Unless the players want to have their own dungeons (a sort of evil Birthright campaign?) then I don't think it would make work.

The only way I see inserting a dungeon into Dragon that really works is if there was a solo adventure. Solo adventures are for players, not DMs, right? So they should be published in Dragon?

At the risk of alienating the fine folks at Paizo, I'd prefer that my players _not_ buy Dungeon, since I don't want them reading the adventure material that I may be using (especially Adventure Path material).

Sounds like the idea is to be a marketing thing. Advertise for Dungeon magazine in Dragon. I'd think there might be other places that would be better to advertise by inserting a dungeon. Maybe a free dungeon on the web or in some other magazine to try to catch those who aren't aware of dungeon's existance. The thing is, people who visit the web site are aware of dungeon, as are readers of dragon, as (most likely) are people who visit their FLGS. The place to advertise is in the dungeon master's guide. That would really catch the new DMs.
