yes there are 16 players.

the plot is that they are all trapped in a large castle in groups of four with this as a final battle against the four that trapped them there.( powerful pc's run by the 4 gm's of the group).

All in all an easy battle or well you get the point.

Also just to say before being asked the optimization level will range from wizards with power atack to some realy optimized person and everywhere in between.

(yes I'm in a hand-basket)


Ok the general point is if 16 level 10 PC's go up against a party of 4 level (insert number here most likely 16) BBEG's. Is there a reasonable chance that they will win (most likely with heavy losses)?

I really would like some opinions here because even with various pre-made encounter generators this is APL and that seems a little off.

ok the advice so far is really split so for reasons lets say there will be at most 3 "monsters" involved in the fight.

To clarify the questions Rerednaw presented.
1. it takes place in a library 100x100 room 30 feet to the roof shelfs 10 feet high and spaced every 15 feet or so.
2. no he is waiting to monologue while they attempt to do anything.
3. 40-50 feet
4.none
5. inside
6. 15 pt buy and standard WBL
7. 60k gp if i remember
8. probably at least half the players if we assume average rolls all around.
9. they are split on optimization 3 are heavy optimizers and the rest are decent.
10. they have no idea he is a wizard or evil (thank you magic). so yes he is dead if they grab him.

Also I am fine with the chance of some death.


Ok simple question. Is a 15th level wizard(counter spell abjurer) way too much for a party of eight 8th level pcs? I have no idea. Opposition schools are evocation and illusion. Any advice?

Unfortunately no spellbinder.

Point taken on abjuration and on looking over the spells necromancy and enchantment are the new opposition schools.

For the feats out to 15 I was thinking:
Elemental spell:acid, spell focus and greater focus evocation, spell penetration, and spell perfection with the bonus metamagic feats being quicken and dazing spell.

I am still having trouble with the spell selection there are just so many options.


OK so I did more reading and decided to have abjuration(the cleric can cover this) and enchantment(once again cleric).

I also now get two traits.

For feats:
C:scribe scroll(can't replace)
1:toughness
3:craft wondrous (in a party of 8 this is important cleric has weapon)
B:heighten spell (prerequisite for preferred)
5:preferred spell-fireball(with only 2 casters and undead heavy this is needed)
7-20:no idea suggestions

I went with elf as the race and get average wealth by level so and we are officially starting this Saturday at 6th so have fun.


OK so I decided to go with Divination(foresight). The question now is what oppositions to take and what feats are really necessary for the character.

As a side not I will most likely avoid summons as the party is already at 8 and this will be one of the 2 casters.


After much reading of guides and other threads I have decided to make a "God" wizard. The problem is there is so much good stuff i am having a little trouble picking so I would like to ask for a good build for a God wizard(lvl 1-20).

I want to focus in divination(foresight) or conjuration(teleportation) it really is so hard to decide.

The point buy is 25 and no idea for a race.

The game is pathfinder only ( core,UC,UM,and APG)

I have searched various threads and found nothing for making a Dragon Disciple with no dips in any other class so my question is how could I go about making a sorcerer/dragon disciple mainly focused on casting as a back up fighter.

Honestly I have no idea what to do as it is a first for me making any spontaneous caster.

The stats were rolled and are:18,18,18,16,11,14(lucky me).

I'm looking to start it at 7th level and going to who knows where. (hopefully 20 but that barely ever happens)

Also yes I have read the guide it helped a little still no idea.

Any advice is good advice so thanks in advance.


I am making a Oracle of the Dark Tapestry starting at level 5 and going to 15. Even though this may seem a bit cruel I want advice on how to make it as insanely powerful as possible as I will end up fighting the entire party latter.

The character is the NPC healer for the party(not to mention the person instigating a tribal war. secretly of course.) of 3 rouges an evoker a inquisitor a fighter and a poor pacifist monk.

All pathfinder material is allowed and characters get 2 traits.

So please help make this idea into a BBEG to in all likely hood kill some of the party. Be creative and have fun.


Actually that may be a good idea as they are about to go into a forest.

Any other ideas?


I am all for the idea of letting them take spirit vessels and using the non evil undead provided they find a way to explain it.
There is another thing to deal with the Evoker is still not pleased with this solution and I would rather not kick him out of the group (he is the transport to 2 of the other pcs(the oracle and another) who otherwise could not come).
Once again if no other alternative option arises then I may have to have one of them make a new character or they may start a pvp and that I would very much like to avoid.
So opinions any solution and is it within a NG or CG alignment to intentionally kill a deaf oracle for raising non evil undead of enemies to help the party?
If necessary I can work around the transportation so feel free to ignore it.


Thank you for your suggestions although I would like to know is there any ideas for limits that the PC can use to make the subject a little more ok.
Like not animating people or only having one at a time.
Things like that that are not crippling.


I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place I am currently running the Rise of the Runelords adventure path and one of the pc's is a oracle of bone and we just hit 6th level. Now the main point is about half the party (an evoker(NG),an inquisitor(LN) a monk(LG with avow of peace) And a rouge(CG))are pretty close minded with raising the dead. The other three rouges are apathetic and don't care one way or the other they just want the stuff. That being said the oracle has bent over backwards optimizing for undead and still being able to heal. I'm honestly new and this is the first time I have ran a game other than the 2 sessions prior to this one so is anyone has some advice that preferably doesn't involve someone losing their character that would be appreciated. If that is impossible some advice on how to let them down easily would help.
