But do you have to make a combat maneuver check to see if you successfully grab a fighter even after the attack is successful or does the grab succeed automatically with a successful attack?

I believe that it grants a free CM check with a successful attack, but lich here, my GM used every successful attack as a free grab and pulled us towards him every time. I have a hard time believing this to be correct.

The grab ability just says that if you have a successful attack you can attempt a grapple as a free action and without provoking an attack of opportunity. Is grab just an intermediary step, as in attack, then grab and then "insert maneuver"

So I have craft arms and armor and I want to make a hosteling armor. Problem is I'm a cleric and secret chest is not on my spell list although I am high enough level to cast 5th level spells.

What options do I have to craft the armor?

I was thinking about getting an NPC to help, but I have no idea what the cost would be. Is it fair to say the cost of the spell as a scroll plus a daily fee for helping?

So something like 1125 plus like 75 gold for 3 days to make it an even 1200?

Any other ideas, and the wizard in the group is already busy crafting other items...

We're level 9.

Oh, ok thx, I appreciate the fast response.

Hi all,

So I see how to price uses per day, but I am looking for something to deal with this example...

Let's say I have an item that let's me cast darkness twice per day, and it lasts for 3 minutes each time.

How would I price it to say, last for 6 minutes in 1 minute increments.

Similar to some items which have x rounds of use, but can be used in 1 round increments, or x distance used in 5ft increments etc.

Somehow I think this should be more costly since you are getting the same duration of usage only it is more versatile to be able to turn it off and save it.

Any ideas, and if it is posted somewhere I prefer to read it myself, I just can't seem to find it. Thanks

I use a spreadsheet when I play to keep track of loot, as party treasurer. A couple formulas and I just type how many I use and it let's me know how many are left.

I like the shot glass and toothpicks idea though

OK,

So let me add this, I have the materials, eg. We salvaged adamantine and rather than pay to make my armor adamantine and buy the adamantine, I just need someone to do the work, so what would you pay someone?

So I am in a party that has some time off and want to craft some items. Unfortunately, the people with the feats can't create all of our items in the time we have off, so I want to have an NPC craft the items for me. So the question is what would the fee be just for the services.

Extra Info.
Upgrading Comp Long bow from +1 to +2 and 1D6 Shock damage and a Breast plate +1 to +2

Based on the payment for a craft skill check, I assumed around 10-15 per week would be fair, but somehow this seems low.
