will have to look out for PazioConUK then! Glad to see that there is a fair band of us in the ranks!

Do you know i didn't even have mash tatties and neeps tonight and definitely no haggis!! - mind you they are hard to catch at this time of year ;)

Hey Zombie, I was born down that way...but got out after 8 days and safely back up north! :p

Just wondering how many fellow Brits are here on the boards? And if there is much PFS going on in the UK?

I'm from Scotland myself and to my knowledge there is nothing remotely PFerish or even D&Dish near me :(

Thank goodness for PbP!

agreed it is not the only genre to have such a swing in quality, but is just seems every time I find a fantasy film they fit into either camp with nothing really in-between.

Of course I'd be happy to be shown any mid-range fantasy films to prove me wrong :D

Grand Lodge

ooh there are a few authors here I have not heard of will have to go and check them out!

Is it just me of do fantasy moves seem to be either awesome and epic or naff and badly acted (regardless of budget!)I wonder why that is?

Grand Lodge

hmmm choices choices.

Harry Potter universe would be a top choice
Dr. Who maybe
SG(1/A/U) Oh yeah!
PF/D&D style world - as a witch/healer

Currently reading Ghost Hunter by Michelle Paver, yeah yeah I know its a kids book, but I love the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness Series :)

30 year old female, non-military, played D&D at school then picked it up again ten years later when a couple of workmates were playing. that was 3.5 and PF test. been playing 3.5 ever since and moved to PF last year, just sold off my 3.5 books to fund my pf addiction!!

For me my go-to authors tend to be:

Elizabeth Moon
Emily Gee
Kristen Britain
Mercedes Lackey
Maria v. snyder

At least thats the bulk of what fills my bookcase :)

I couldn't get into the Wheel of Time books, got through the first and halfway into the second and gave up!

I quiet liked the first three shannara books (some of the earliest fantasy I read) but got bored of them there after.

I found the Pern series hit and miss for my taste too.

First time I attempted Tolkin I got no where fast and gave up fast. but when the films were first coming out I get LOTR ago again...funnily enough having just studied Russian lit and living in Russia as I was at the time it was a lot easier to read :D
