I had Smenk get away with his dealings with the cult and through his influence aquire the mine. I wanted to have the players really end up hating him and then created my own sub adventure that deals with removing him from power. I'm certain my players will take great enjoyment outta finally bringing Smenk down.

In my game Smenk has been conspiring with the head priest of The Silver Flame ( St.Cuthbert) to taint the supply of Ore with psionic energies. The Priest is actually An Inspired Agent of the Dreaming Dark ( A secret species of Dream Spirits that can possess bodies) and uses his strange practices to currupt Diamond Lake. The PCs are already suspicious of the Priest and his Self-Flaggelation and to bring Smenk down only to find out that the Priest was involved will be quite interesting.

Well as far as the cult goes in my Eberron game I use The Blood of Vol (Vecna) and their Militiristic offshoot The Emerald Claw (Hextor). They have been sent to Diamond Lake by Vol herself who once went to the Cathedral to learn Arcane Secrets and now believes that the Pool can be used to combine The Keeper, The Mockery and The Shadow into an Overgod to increase Vol's divine power. Gralluk is a member of the Dragon Below who recieved visions from Kyber and holds some secret to the Black Pool. The Faceless One took it as a sign and requested his assistance for the time being until he ceased to proove usefull.

I pretty much like those 3 factions a lot better than the 3 gods of the dark six and wanted to include them in my Eberron Age of Worms.

When is the assumed best time to introduce a trip to The Free City. Anyone know if a future AoW installment might require that the players must be rather unaquinted with the city or can trips or even adventures there between AoW installments be done without conflicting with the main plot. As a DM I would just modify everything to make it fit regardless but wouldnt wanna spoil any mood a AoW installment regarding the city would try to convey. I havn't read "Three faces of Evil" of yet so I'm not sure how that ends and seques into Pt. 3.

any ideas or advice?
