Okay, I need some help figuring out my lay on hands and Channeling. I've read a bunch of threads on it but I'm not seeing my answer. Maybe because its too simple and I'm just not getting it :-p
I have a Lev 4 Paladin right now with a Chr of 14 and the feat Extra Lay on Hands. That should give me 6 LOH per day, correct?
All well and good.
Three points:
1. Now, I get Channel Positive Energy at 4 as well. I use up 2 LOH, to cast 1 CPE correct?
So I could use 6 LOH, *or* 3 CPE, or some combo thereof (2 LOH and 2 CPE etc.) if I'm reading that correctly anyway.
2. For Lev 5 I was thinking about taking Extra Channel for my Feat which gives me 4 additional LOH per day.
"Special: If a paladin with the ability to channel positive energy takes this feat, she can use lay on hands four additional times a day, but only to channel positive energy."
So that effectively gives me 2 extra CPE per day then correct??
3. Where I'm getting confused is that when I run it in Hero Lab it shows me as having 6 LOH per day on my tracker (which sounds right) and 5 CPE which is where I'm confused.
The way it makes it look is as if I'm getting both the LOH *and* the channels.
Am I correct in that those tracking numbers are the MAX possible for each healing, not a combined total?
If I used 5 CPE I would have no LOH left for the day. That would use up my 6 normal LOH for 3 CPE, as well as the 4 bonus LOH from Extra Channeling to give me the other 2 CPE.
As I type this I'm thinking its making more sense now but the fact that Hero Lab was listing them both at max numbers in the tracking boxes is what was confusing me. It made it seem as if I could do the 6 LOH *and* the 5 CPE.
Does any of that make sense to anyone? I suspect I'm over complicating this and confusing myself and everyone else along with me....
