Dark Archive

Rays of sunlight flowed across the fields to Sandpoint, but as they poised ready to dive over the cliff and hit the green sea, something strange occurred. On that morning, the dogs beside the wastepile began to bark, sharply. They could not be soothed nor shamed into silence. Eventually their master relented. He let himself back inside his cottage, committed now to carrying on the business of the day.

After all, human senses are not so refined as to remark the scent of fearful Licktoad goblins lurking at range.

At last the wind gave a friendly shove to the first light of day, and together they went plummeting over the edge and across the sea. It was a fantastic voyage they always cherished. There is nothing quite like the coming of a new dawn.

Belor, Sheriff of Sandpoint, rose at a leisurely seven o’clock and went into his office to review his messages. In summary:

Quote:

1. no word from the adventurers sent into Brinestump Marsh.

2. no spare force of guards would be sent to ply the thick and tangled swamp.
3. another attack in the night, another caravan set upon by goblins on the southern road.

Perhaps, he had a solution.

Meanwhile, the staff of Sandpoint's Rusty Dragon Tavern, Inn & Refuge begin preparing breakfast. The proprietor, one Ameiko Kaijitsu, sits at the bar reviewing a number of scrolls. She frowns over the vellum in her ink-stained fingers while her employees go about their tasks. Soon, the smells of delicious chicken and noodles waft out of the clattering kitchen. The tasty scent floods out upon the street and up among the guest rooms.

It is Starday in Sandpoint, 0800 hours.

Sovereign Court

1 person marked this as a favorite.

“It is time, for the zenith of the Regent’s power grows near.”

One spot is reserved. I am currently looking for a party of five.
No other players are expected to bring Tian or Asia-themed characters at level one. Players should not worry about your PCs knowing Tian languages. Tian language skills won’t be required to progress in your journey.

In order to offset the point-buy restrictions, you GM will have a few nice rewards along the way.

15 point buy & First Level.
Take your maximum HP, of course
Take your maximum starting wealth
One Campaign Trait (multiple PCs may have the same Campaign Trait)
One additional trait
Please include a Personality and Motivation for your proposed character
3PP allowed if verified and approved by myself

Your role-play and good name on these boards is more important to me than your build.
Please include a link to a writing sample for this PC or for another character you enjoyed playing. This could be a post elsewhere on the boards, or a story you have written elsewhere. This could be a Backstory, but it is not required to be one. Get Creative!

I would also like to see a brief statement of concept for any characters submitted. This should be in the style of Numenera, or in other words “ JOE THE BAKER is an ADJECTIVE NOUN who VERBs.”
