A monk of the empty hand replaces the normal weapon and armor proficiencies of the monk. He get's fists and shuriken, as well, treats weapons as improvised. For his flurry, it states he can flurry with improvised weapons.

A regular monk's weapon and armor pros state, at the end, that he cannot flurry, get wis to ac, or fast move while wearing armor.

A Empty hand monk does not state this. However, the AC and Fast movement DO state that they are lost when wearing armor, sheilds, or having a med. or heavy load.

So, am i correct that monks of the empty hand can flurry of blows in armor?

1/5

Is it after 18 scenarios? Or since it's mundane, is it always available?

So, are there any rules for enchanting a net? Does it need to deal damage to add the d6 of elemental damage?

Also, if you have equipment trick:rope, can you enchant a rope?

Can you get masterwork rope?

Would chain be considered a type of rope?

Cold iron chain used a whip??

I want to make a half orc rough and ready (+1 to hit with a tool, society field guide) and freedom fighter (+1 dmg with improvised weapons, Dragon empire gazetter? or primer?) and while his traits will make his rope some what magical(+1 to hit/+1 dmg), can it be magic?

I'm playing a net tossing Elf hurler invulnerable barb in pfs, who's taking his second level as a Spire defender Black blade magus.

I took quick draw at lvl 1, and plan on taking net adept at 3, so I can use my net with spell strike at lvl 3. The other option is take iron will at 3, so at 5th i can take Unbreakable fighter 1 AND stalwart. Either way, 5th is going to be UB fighter, as this character is going to be a Living Monolith at 6th, so he needs endurance and iron will for that.

Weapons wise, i'm now using a MW Klar as a shield (will be my black blade at CL 4th, SDBBM 3) and have two nets and trident.

I also need to choose a exotic trip or disarm weapon, i was thinking an aklys, since i get +10ft on the throw and it's blunt. Other options i know of are the Temple Sword, Falcata, Khopesh, Tekko Kagi, nine sectioned whip, and nunchucks and some other light weapons. I was going to use one of the swords but the Klar is a nice option for a Black blade magus, and with quickdraw, it's easy to have in hand. ANd it's a free +1 weapon in pfs, haha.

So i had a few questions about the rope equipment trick in the society field guide.

Two of the tricks for rope are making a knot and using it as a spiked chain, and another is using any rope as a whip. Both of these uses require you are proficient with the weapon, but,are improvised weapons if its more advantageous. For feats like catch off guard and throw anything i'd wager. If you used the alt race traits for an orc, beastmaster and chainfighter, they are martial for a half orc.

My questions are:

Can you flurry with a rope, as either a whip or a spiked chain? Would the empty hand damage tables supercede the whip/chain damage? Could you flurry (with quick draw) coils of rope?

If you have a 16 ft piece of rope, can you use one end as a whip and the rest as a spiked chain? Or is that a double weapon? If you had quick draw could you just swap ends? I imagine whip mastery is good for a whip build.

How would magic rope work, can you give rope a +1 bonus... to climb? attack and dmg?

1 person marked this as FAQ candidate.

So my question is, can a gladiator or dragoon archetype retrain performance weapon mastery/ mounted combat or skill focus:ride?

I want to say yes for the gladiator, since he gets performance mastery in addition to his bonus feats, but for dragoon, it states that those two feats replace your lvl 1 fighter bonus feat, BUT, they are noted as being bonus feats.

So, i want to make a summoner type character and wanted to be focused on that, what are some options for beefed up summons, using multiclassing.

Plains domain druid is cool, with the doubling spell duration. Do this work with the summoner "summon monster ability". Are there other domain or abilities that other classes get? Like verdant alt that gives your leafy summons.

Also, 1) do your feats that effect summons effect your summon monster spell ability?
2) do they effect your eidelon?

So i'm going to run a campain of Jade regent, and was wondering if an oracle can venerate pazuzu. Since it's a small group i was thinking of running a Human swordsaint who takes a dip lore oracle for sidestep secret (and dumping dex) and later keeps an item that typically is a bane.

The oracle sections says they venerate all gods that support their ideals. Perhaps some strange lore he finds takes his sight but imparts in him the side step lore (if he makes it to second level), and he's challenged secretly by pazuzu to trim his flock in brinewall, and later, infiltrate the north, etc.

So, instead of give them a cursed item, i can make my 'mysterious blind samurai' a little better.

We've got a spot open, our trusty sorcerer is leaving us, sad to say.

Currently we are playing in a golarian esq world, our adventuring party consists of a Dwarf Fighter, Human Pally, and Human Ranger.

We are open to all classes, books, we use traits, standard rules (no Armor as DR or called shots... yet lol!) And we've been gaming since feb, via meet up.

If you'd like to join us, message me here. Players are lvl 5, we play every other weekend as availability presents itself.
