Jan watches the wall expectantly for an instant, then glances around, looking for some change. perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

I do not know how closely we are tracking combat, but I want to make sure I understand the rules. I would like to have Jan take a step back (a five foot step), draw a dagger (a move action), pick up the first knicknack on the desk (another move action). Do these move actions count as "movement" for the purposes of disallowing a 5 foot step?

Another figure slides out of the drizzle wearing a cloak neatly arranged over a pack. Pathfinders? Am I late?

Jan shakes water off a cloak with a practiced motion and hands it to the teenager in the cloak check room, muttering thanks to Desna for a safe arrival. Slapping Verenese and Pollock on the backs, Jan makes a beeline for the bar and orders "the most exotic ale you have, dear barkeep, and Desna's blessing!"
