Had a cavalier with a dip to get the phalanx fighting. Even with a defensive bent to my character (tower shield too) still did plenty of damage. Though we did have a pair of cavaliers in the party. Me, the anvil, and my friend was the damage hammer--which worked pretty well.

Found the halberd satisfying(piercing & slashing), 1d10 dmg, and it does have the brace property for 'ready pike' at 5th level.

Would you be able to describe your build? :) That sounds interesting, multiclassing with cavalier. Which archetype did you do it with?

Hey! Was wondering if anyone can help me optimize a Phalanx Soldier fighter to have good damage output for being a defensive archetype. I'm quite new to Pathfinder, so I'm not totally familiar with a lot of the feats and traits yet.

So I was thinking of taking two-weapon fighting, improved shield bash, and power attack at 1st level. Then, at 3rd level when I can wield a polearm/spear, I'll either take Improve Bullrush or Combat Reflex, depending on if I want to play more defensively or offensively at that time.

One of my end goals is to have Shield Slam so that I may get the free Bull Rush. That's why I took TWF - if they get too close, I can shield bash, get my free Bull Rush, 5-foot step back, and then finish the attack with my long reach weapon. Does that make sense and work, or am I not getting the mechanics right? Haha.
But yeah, that's what I have set up for now. I would like to ask if there is anything wrong with what I have so far, and if there is anything else I can do to improve it. What other feats should I take? I think Shield Mastery will be one of them, but other than that, anything else to help out?

Are there any classes worth dipping into for multiclassing? What about armor and weapons, which type of armor should I focus on (medium or heavy) and which long-reach weapon would be the best for this build?

Hey all, new to Pathfinder and i'm trying to theory craft unique/workable builds for my compendium for future games i want to join. Right now, i'm working on a Daring Champion.

So far, I have a human Daring Champion with a dueling sword, picking up Weapon Focus for it and Slashing Grace as the bonus feat. I am planning to go Order of the Flame for the Glorious Challenge feat for all of the damage, as well as picking up Power Attack at level 3.

However, as i was thinking about the AC issues that Flame Order will give , i had an idea of dipping my second level to a Vivisectionist Alchemist. That way, i can get Mutagen to up my beefiness, extracts that includes Shield, as well as Sneak Attack which is great for a dex build.

What do you guys think? After the Vivisectionist dip, i was planning to continue with maxing Daring Champion. Another alternative was to take Order of the Dragon and be more tanky/supportive as well as having the benefits of the Vivisectionist dip.

Also, what feat would compliment the build , or just compliment daring champion in general?

Thanks in advance!

Hey all, i'm very interested in building a Magus, but i'm not sure if i want to go Kensai or regular Magus. Ultimately, i want dex to damage and weapon finesse. Because of the whole Slashing Grace ordeal, i was planning to just go for the Agility enchantment on my weapon.
With Kensai, i was planning to go with the Dueling Sword for the free weapon finesse feat (because they are proficient in exotic weapons). That way i don't have to waste feats if i were to go regular magus. however, i'm wondering if the drawbacks are worth it, which are the one less casting of spells per day and the lost of spell recall and the like.

What do u guys think? what are other alternatives to dex-to-damage magus?

Building around the idea of a wandering doctor/healer with the Inspired Chemist/Chirurgeon. Heal skill will be stacked with Precise Treatment (trait), Inspiring Cognatogen (archetype feat), Tears to Wine (extract), and various tools. Additionally, I will have the free infusion for cure extracts to share.

Ultimately, I will roll something like this out of combat: 1d20+9(20 int mod)+1d6(inspire)+2(extract)+3(tools).

Planning to take Healing Bomb and Precise Bombs for in combat healing...but I also want to get Healing Touch at level 6 so I may have to switch around a few things. Maybe get the Signature Skill Heal unlock so I can heal more hitpoints with Treat Deadly Wounds. What do you guys think?

Is there anything I can do to change/add to improve this concept? What about any steps to up my dmg just a little bit more so I don't lack in the battlefield? Thanks in advance!

Here is my build so far: http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=1087452

Hey guys, pretty new to Pathfinder but I'm wanting to try and craft my own builds. Found a really neat build, but I don't quite know how it'll work in actuality since I'm not experienced with the game so if you guys can offer advice or changes, let me know! Here's what I have so far.

I was thinking of taking Alchemist to 4, and then dipping into Gun Tank at 5. Reason being is so I can get Explosive Missle discovery. My idea is that I'll be wearing medium armor (heavy would be too penalizing to for a lower STR character, wouldn't it? or should I got heavy) with a light/heavy shield. That way, I can survive close to mid range skirmishes and be able to output a single, powerful attack per turn (explosive missile + hybridized fire/acid alchemical weapon + bullet dmg to touch AC + deadly aim feat + next round fire dmg from alchemical weapon).

I'm a human, at level 1, with a 25 point buy. For my starting feat, I have point blank and precise shot. planning to get deadly aim too for when i dip into gun tank.

Another thought comes up...can I use the targeted bomb admixture extract with explosive missile on a bullet? :o

any other advice or changes that you guys have for me, and which feats i should pick up along the way? thanks in advance :)
