Liberty's Edge 3/5

Okay So I am running this adventure for my seventeen year old son and his Friends (20-17)My sons is playing a wizard and brought his pig familiar While talking to Alden (the curate of the Blakros) Museum) Alden pointed out he had brought his pig stating you have brought your porcine was that appropriate,. both my sons character and another players character took offense (the were not aware porcine meant pig)it culminated in DJ (not my son) saying speaking of Pigs where is your wife? U dod not want to give too much of the module away but I am little unsure of how to proceed.
I have three choices
A. Makes this a big deal and have strongly effect everything
B. Make the players squirm since Aldin and his wife do not get along just milk it
C. Restart from the ship and give them a chance to rethink their tatcis

there are three others players who are new
Both players consider themselves great roleplayers and believe that
a high charisma is a way to say whatever you want as long as you get a good roll

They are good roleplayers and generally are fun but this trend is annoying they both have been players for at least five years

what do you think

11. Anything that can't be crit or suffer a sneak attack. Rogue players hate that alot. Especially if they think it can be.

12. Ravenloft Campaign I once ran Odiere a Ravenloft domain and beat a character to death with puppets. If your really want to scar a player I highly recommend Ravenloft.

Tian Xia sounds kinda roiental adventurey. I love playing L5R my others players do not. So an oriental pathfinder campaign would rock. I have an old Hengeyaki Wu-jen I would love to breathe new life into.

Liberty's Edge

If I wanted to run this campaign in 3.5 would it work?

Thinking about bestiary 2 there a ton of monsters I would love to see, but I don't see 99% of them as necessary. There are so many. My tag Szarkel is a type of Gith dog used by Githzerai in hunting mind flayers. Obviously the szarkel is not going to make it. In 3.5 I wanted them to convert everything over. By the Monster Manual V the payoff was really low. They are monsters I love. There are ones I dislike immensley. However, by not having Mind Flayers in the campaign it has made me look at the Rakahasa in a new light. I would love to know what monsters are there but it seems I will spoil my fun. I like the idea propsed (sorry Gary)of getting rid of the whole chromatic (evil) vs metalic (good) vs gem (neutral) vs ferric (chaotic) and then the other kind, (Was there a lawful kind?). Perhaps each dragon would be any individual? A dragon would be almost a table. One couldn't just drop a dragon in an encounter the creature itself had to be planned.

Well I strongly disagree with core races that aren't goblins.

Maybe somone could right a PAthfinder module for a party of goblins.

To be honest that stealth check is a bit much for a player race

I joined the thread with my hopes of playing a goblin. The pathfinder one's are adorable. I think I speak for the gaming community when I say the gaming world needs a plush pathfinder goblin.

They're bait, used to catch taco meat.

We have plenty here in Illinois they feast on all the pigeons around the lake front.

I didn't want to start a new thread but since this seems a place were people really familliar with game post. Can anyone tell me what the order of Aesir is?
I can not seem to find it and a players wants to be in it.

Liberty's Edge

I was just looking through some of my books from 3.0/3.5 and was trying to convert some of the lesser known races. Anybody got any races they converted and would like to share.
My first is the Pevishann for Mythic races.
I was thinking they would get the wizard specialist benefits without getting anything else.
Anybody else have any suggestions?
or races

Liberty's Edge

I love this kind of debate so pardon my pontificating
For years I played paladins in basic, AD&D,2nd AD&D,3.0,3,5.Pathfinder Beta, All those years I sucked and I sucked hard. I rigoursly played a code that many times made things incredibly dificult. I remember being in a bar and an open follwer of Vecna came in. I left only because I couldn't lawfully harras him but I didn't tolerate evil. I left only to be taunted by lawful good party members. Finally a paladin has some magic in it and is more than just a really hard class to qualify for. Drop an ooze on a paladin and watch all those powers go for naught. A paladin should have a distinct advantage over evil because they are expected to fight it whenever possible. A fighter regardless of alginment is not required to make that choice. Comparing a paladin's code to being lawful good is certainly not valid. You can have shades of lawful good. Does your paladin have a vow of povery? Is he or she limited in their companions? Do you require honesty that is more than averting eyes to scurrilous actions by other party members? In a characters background should be that code that binds them. My paladins don't even tolerate the use of the intimdation skill. What of virtue? Honesty that doesn't tell the truth is not honesty, mercy that isn't mericful is obviously not mericful, this includes giving foes a chance to surrender. If a paladin doesn't do these things they should not only lose their power but should suffer. The DM should remind the player of what they had and it's loss. Which doesn't happen to any other class. Druids these days have a lot more latitude. Perhaps rangers should be just as good out on the city streets as out in the wild? Part of the fun of having a paladin in a party is putting them in hard moral choices. If PCs aren't making hard moral choices in my opinion, they are playing a lawful good fighter. Depowering the paladin in my mind is like saying I am warrior in the battle against evil but I am no better at it then anybody else. So evil sort of beware. Why be a paladin if you get depowered for being really good at the thing you are supposed to be good at? Would you depower a balor because it has a really distinct advantage over good?

Is this compatible with Dr. Lucky from Cheap Ass and doe sit give rules for using the ambivelance pack or the castle cragidoch (there probably isn't much of a difference)
