The last sentence is referring to using hex's, the monkey doesn't need contact to use a hex, it clearly says when talking about touch spells that they have to be in contact.

PS. Why didn't you use a round to kill the monkey? keep the witch from ever being a threat again

i needed all my actions to retreat with my party they were all humans and elfs i was the only dwarf. removing the monkey would give the barbarians a chance to attack.

A situation has arose with my groups recent session of pathfinder 3.5

the party had assaulted a town full of enemy barbarians, and had proceeded to get caught in a web spell (the town was surrounded by a jungle making the web spell castable) all save me had been encased in webbing thanks to my inquisitors Liberation domain ability (best domain ever). he left the web and engaged the barbarian chieftain in mortal combat. after beating him into unconsciousness an NPC witch sent out her familiar through a window of a nearby hut(the door was blocked by her web spell) and the monkey cast cure light wounds on the chief. i had to beat him down again and by that time the web had partially burned away allowing other barbarians to throw javelins at me. this placed me at a mere 6 hit points i was ready to do a full retreat when the monkey jumped into my square (it was tiny sized so i didn't get an attack of opportunity) and using the monkey the witch casted inflict moderate wounds. now when this happened i knew from my past plays with a witch that the familiar needs to return to the witch before she can cast another touch spell on the pet for it to deliver. the monkey did not return to the caster, and i complained that he needs to make contact in order for the monkey to deliver the touch spell. the GM said that the familiar is in contact with the witch because of empathetic link. This spell put my Pc under 0 and it made my teamates use a cure light wounds on me. as i start to run away(i only had 20 ft movement so i was behind) the godarn monkey is still on my back and the witch casted another inflict moderate wounds throught the monkey this killed my inquisitor. the monkey then runs away back to the witch. at this point my character was well out of sight of the witch and out of the village. but the empathatic link says that it will function up to a mile away.
at this point im calling bullshit

now im guessing that my question is does empathatic link allow a familar to cast touch spells without having to return to the caster. does the monkey need to have the spell cast on it by the witch therefore mean contact Actual physical contact?

here is the description on empathatic link and the touch spell rules.

from the APG:

Deliver Touch Spells (Su): If a witch is 3rd level or higher,
her familiar can deliver touch spells or hexes for her. If
the witch and the familiar are in contact at the time the
witch casts a touch spell, she can designate her familiar
as the “toucher.” The familiar can then deliver the touch
spell just as the witch would. As usual, if the witch casts
another spell before the touch is delivered, the touch
spell dissipates. If the witch activates a hex, her familiar
can be used to make the touch. She does not have to be in
contact with the familiar to use this ability.

i read the last sentence and i understand the witch does not need to be in contact withe the familiar to designate the pet as the toucher. BUT being able to cast a spell a mile away seems ridiculous to me

Emp link:(from wizard class in core rulebook)
Empathic Link (Su): The master has an empathic link
with his familiar to a 1 mile distance. The master can
communicate emphatically with the familiar, but cannot
see through its eyes. Because of the link’s limited nature,
only general emotions can be shared. The master has the
same connection to an item or place that his familiar does.

upon our adventures in golaria i happened to try to use a healing hex on an undead, the hex says that
A. a creature cannot BENIFIT from this effect more than once a day
B. this hex operates as per the spell cure moderate wounds(8th level witch)

my GM informed me that this cannot work beacuse technically the undeead arent "benifiting" from the effect so therefore they cannot be targeted by it in the first place.

he also said that i cant use it mulitiple times agaist a single undead beacuse it makes sense that it would work like the rest of the hexes, only once a day.

i could really use some help here

thanks.
