The Hill Giant side of the Giant Liars Map is so useful, I would love to see more maps in this vein.

There are some great human settlement maps, crazy dungeons, and lost cities however a great addition would be some primitive/tribal outposts and village maps, perfect to plan out attacks on the enemy or perform secret rescue missions.

On one side a heavily trapped Goblin Warren and the other a well fortified Orc Outpost!

The map for medium-sized humanoids could also work for; Orcs, Gnolls, Bugbears, Hobgoblins, Barbarians, or Bandits, and the map for small-sized humanoids could possibly work for; Kolbolds, Derro, Fey creatures, etc.

A more far-out version could have a tribal Girallon tree top garrison and the other side a Lizardfolk swamp outpost.

Since you have full-filled my GM's dream by producing the Monster Codex, now please give me a place for those creatures to live!?!

What do you guys think?

P.S. While I am at it throw in a double map set of the Underdark!

I have the same issue with my new game and am using the wotc Aspect of Hexor, its large with 6 arms and large fangs.

So it's been sometime now, is there any word yet on a Monster Codex 2 or a Rival Guide 2 coming down the pike?!?

Both would be highly welcomed, the Monster Codex provides a venue for some classic monsters as well as some real creative choices. While a new Rival Codex with a few low level teams could also have stats blocks for Dwarf, Elf, Halfling, and Gnome villages or groups like thugs, monks, tribes, and zealots.

I echo the sentiments of my fellow reviewers when I ask to see a Monster Codex 2.

20 in total; 4 playable races, 10 monster races, 6 undead creatures.

Aasimar
Catfolk
Tiefling
Tengu

Centaur
Cyclops
Dryad & Fey Creatures
Ettin
Gargoyle
Giants (Hill & Stone)
Girallon
Morlock
Rakshasa
Treant

Skeleton
Mummy
Werewolf
Wight
Wraith
Zombie

Suli is a real cool playable race that could be added.

A Rival Codex could be awesome as well like the Rival Guide but with a few more low level teams and maybe sections for groups like; gangs, monks, zealots, tribes.

Are the use of flaws allowed in PFS?!? Hero Lab seems to allow me to use them even while the PFS restriction box is clicked...

There are several great editable sheets for Pathfinder without portraits and there are some great fill-in sheets that have up-loadable pictures but no editable sheets that have portraits. Why?

I know there is Hero Lab but it format is so clumsy, cluttered, and expensive. So where is the alternative? Character sheets are the representation of our individual characters and they can be greatly enhanced with a personalized portrait.

In the "old days" it was awesome if there was a member of your group who could draw and they would do drawings of the group and characters. Now with the plethora of terrific fantasy art available on the internet it seems an obvious feature to add to a modern editable sheet.

If anyone knows of one available or interested in developing one please post information here.

Are there any editable character sheets where you can also upload a portrait?

Instead of trying to predict what your players may make, just learn the weakness of their characters i.e. their classes

Class - Weakness

Fighter - attack their will and reflex saves, use area of effect spells
Fighter - attack their will save and avoid their favored enemy/terrain
Rogue - use enemies that are immune to critical hits and sneak attack
Monk - use enemies with large grapple checks and/or damage reduction
Arcane Caster - Get in close and do physical damage
Divine Caster - attack their reflex and/or use story and intrigue to tempt them to act out of alignment and poof goes all their spells

If the party is Tanking (melee heavy) do some ranged ambushes with traps and difficult terrain

If the party is Blasting (caster heavy) use enemies with spell immunity like constructs, or use anti-magic fields

Hope this helps remember to just adjust what the players have made and watch what those tendencies are you can even write down notes from one session to help you design enemies and encounters that will be challenging and therefore hopefully more rewarding.

It's like Christmas morning every time I get to see new pics posted for the S&S adventure path. Now the new Undead Horde set looks great, the wight with his peg leg fits right into a pirate campaign. he would make a perfect substitute for Whalebone Pilk if you don't end up getting him as he is rare.

Rarity is the main reason I write I have already suggested that the pirate in this set be common, even though it should be uncommon because it looks super terrific in detail and color. Now I am "suggesting" that the Seaweed Siren be Rare. While interesting and never done before, it holds a lower replay value over say the pirate or marine and nobody wants to end up with 10 seaweeds sirens trying to get 1 Whalebone Pilk.

Great to see the Chelish Marine, this mini for sure will see a lot of use as it can fit into many types of settings. Hope to see that Hammerhead and Crab on the way!

Currently I am using the WotC stormclaw scorpion from the Lords of Madness set. They have two other scorpions which also look very crab like. So there it is scorpion x3, crab x0, lol. They also made a wasp that is perfect for Ole'Rickety's place.

If you are looking to add a little something to your next sea battle check out the cool Kraken Tentacle minis they are making at dungeon crawler. Maybe a bit inspiration for a new line here.

Thanks again peeps at piazo, your doing a wonderful job!

Hi Eric! This line is terrific, thank you;

Here are my suggestions as I gather they are too late perhaps these ideas might fill in other lines.

1 Pirate PC's (Tiefling Smuggler, Elf Freebooter, or a Dwarf Corsair)

2 Another Common Pirate Crew Member or a Chelish Marine

3 Hammerhead Shark &/or Hammerhead Wereshark

4 Giant Crab mini

The hammerhead and the crab have never been done before, compared to yet another sculpt of a "bloodbug" or "rat sworm" again. Further Hammerheads are the type of shark that is mentioned specifically in the S&S AP. The set could definitely use more pirate miniatures that are not key NPC and also a variety of interesting races such as that awesome Tengu. There is already one great pirate crew member mini (of unknown rarity) but it would be great to have another type of pirate to represent the opposing crew.

Thanks for reading, keep up the great work!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Aside from a couple choices this set looks outstanding!!! I feel the bloodbug and the rat swarm are both a bit of a repeat as they have been done twice by WoC. Instead why not give us more of things never done before such as a giant crab or hammerhead shark which are both in the S&S adventure path, or better yet another pirate cant have too many of those. Otherwise kudos on a great looking set I plan to get many.
