Pegasus appears in the options for Monstrous Leadership Cohorts,
so that would seem the way to go if you want a My Little Pony (with wings).

Thanks. Yes, I misspoke, I did mean the "Bestary" when I wrote that I was reading the new "Monster Manual". So, are you suggesting that I do not take a paladin mount, and only have a monster cohort? I chose not to take a bonded weapon since I can have a much better weapon that is not connected to my deity, and I can only use the weapon buff for a few times each day. Thus, I was hoping for a good mount. If I just take a cohort mount then the paladin divine bond is entirely superfluous. If I take a different type of mount with companion stats, would you say it just uses the animal companion leveling model and the leadership feat only functions as a means to that type of mount?

I have a question that I cannot find an answer to, even after looking in the new Monster Manual. In our game, the DM allowed my 9th level paladin to take a pegasus for a mount as long as the paladin had the leadership feat. Now the question is, according to the rules, can such a mount only exist as a typical cohort, or can it be a paladin mount? If it can be a paladin mount, would it progress according to the animal companion chart or the cohort chart or according to some hybrid progression? Also, since the pegasus isn't on the druid/ranger animal companion chart (i.e. no starting stats and no 4th/7th level progression) would this make it impossible to have a pegasus as a paladin mount, but still possible for another druid/ranger animal companion that is listed and can function as a mount (e.g. a roc) to be a paladin mount, and how would that creature progress? Thanks for any ideas!

Thanks. I was looking at the Axe Beak when I made this post, and although it can be used as a mount it doesn't have any of the same adjustments for leadership mentioned. I guess I will just be patient!

So how does one calculate the level of a cohort mount without the cohort level adjustments? I was interested in creating a flying mount for a level 9 paladin, but I am not sure which creatures would be available, or how the mount would level as a cohort mount.
