A common sight in my campaign are outhouses with a gelatinous cube at the bottom. About once a year the sanitation engineers with pole arms kill the grown up cube (which is not climbing out without help), and replace it with a little cube.


If you were in initiative, then a fight was already going on? In which case I would say that the the NPC on the other side of the door was not in the initiative, and was delaying until he could join the fight.

Just like a team teleport, everyone else has to delay until the caster goes. Or, if the PC makes a huge perception check, and then beats the ambushers in the surprise round. He is forced to delay until the threat actually appears before he can take an offensive action against it.

There are wings of flying from the CRB that retail for 54,000 gp. A different slot, but should be the same price.

Spell level (3) x CL (5) x 1,800gp = 27,000gp cost. Same as the book.


Just pointing out the bit where you quote "as part of a charge action" for the rage power.

So, once per round, assuming you can charge that often.

Keep in mind, also, that you have the strength only for a limited time. Rage for a few rounds and mutagen, bull strength and enlarge person for a few minutes.

And how did you start with a 20 STR? Dwarves get the bump to Con and Wis.


Improved Crit required BAB +8. (I find no mention of Increased Crit).
Diehard has a prerequisite of Endurance.
So, remove the one feat, replace with the other, and that is fixed.

BAB +6/+1 +4Str +1WF +1GS +1WT = +13/+8
w/PA and FF 0/-2 = +13/+6

Damage 2d6 +[(4x1.5)=6]Str +1WT +1GS =2d6+8
w/PA +6 =2d6+14

So, you math is correct. I might switch out Cleaving Finish for Weapon Specialization, for an extra +2 damage per hit.

You do a fair amount of damage, if you can get to the bad guy. Also realize that your AC is going to be measly with a +1 Dex bonus, and no shield.

Just a niggling little rules lawyering:
Shield spikes are not a shield bash, and would not stack with the bashing weapon property.


I would not allow it as a constant effect because the spell only last for 1 round, and only affects 1 attack.

Assuming I was a more generous DM...
The CRB states that continuous items based on spells measured in rounds have the cost multiplied by 4. I would make a 1 -round spell cost x10.
spell level (1) x caster level (7 : minimum to make a ring)x 2,000 x10=
140,000 gp. For a +20 to hit insight bonus, and negate miss chances due to concealment.
Still seems too cheap. ;0


Except that Sleep only effects 4 HD worth of critters, and is a full-round spell to cast.

Deeper Slumber effects up to 10 HD worth of critters.

There is no cap to the Hold Person, other than needing to be a humanoid.


In my campaign, I had PA add to the strength bonus for all weapons, which gave a nice 1.5x for 2H weapons, and still gave the bonus to light and 1H weapons. The 2x for 2H seemed a bit much, and the light weapons seemed an unnecessary nerf. Rule it as striking soundly with the weapon, and the mass of said weapon determining the extra damage.

I can see a -5 cap as reasonable, with Improved Power Attack taking it to full BAB.

My swashbuckling players have been squawking about CE. Glad to see they're not the only ones unhappy.
