ok, condensed version here as i've sent an e-mail of my grievance.

never got Dungeon #149, though i got #150 in the mail today.
this is NOT the 1st time this has happend. you never compensated me for failing to mail correctly the first one in my subscription (started Gencon Indie, aug '06, at your booth no less). the reply claim was that it was mailed to 1212 coronado, not 1214 (my correct address). not my error, but again, i was never compensated or even given an apology to say the least.
for what it's worth, the people that got me subscriptions to both Dragon & Dungeon were counting on them as well as me, they are my friends/PC's, and i, the DM.
i gave up on that first missing isssue, but again? #149 missing as well? what the Hell? i could understand the previous mistake and grudgingly accepted being screwed out of that #138 (woman in red, archnid-esque coverart i think), but twice is now a business problem. please do not let this become a legal one.
i do not plan on using my remaining credit w/ Paizo to get a back issue that was already paid for in the first place...

in the words on another angry band of ppl (sepultura), "refuse/resist"

it's your duty anyway. think of yourselves as the loyal opposition.
WotC has been putting out alot of fluff anyway. surely it is a marker of bad developing or a stagnation of creativity/inspiration. seriously, see how many "fairly new" accessories are laying around a Half-Price Books gaming shelves (ones gamers realized sucked?). "cityscape" was poorly written missing basic elements of urban aspects. "hereoes of horror" was rushed out to make it in time for Halloween and also lacking, way too much to say there. and now there's the Complete *whatever*...it just keeps going on. quality control ppl...
at least Paizo was keeping fresh ideas in circulation. new blood and all that. not sure if WotC was losing money, saw them as extra competition, or what. i'm guessing they are cutting loses from trainwreck D&D game books of late, Hecatomb (remember them pushing the Hell out of that at Gencon '05), and some hack authors grinding out truly generic sci-fi crap. i know, it's a business and all, but survey your public. with all their incredible resources at Hasbro you'd think they'd have better market research...
boycott if you must, but definetly get together, organize, state your terms. don't just say, "i can't really make a difference." that kinda' mentality fosters stuff like ethnic cleansing, gas price fixing, global warming, etc.

firstly, this whole thing sucks and bla bla bla...so, wtf are you going to do about it? please consider:

-organize ppl. you have these message boards, the net, phones, etc. don't just do the usual, "i'll write and angry e-mail" to some allegedly alienating company...and they are a company and the goal is to make a profit. your boycott alone won't do it, get a petition, something, anything. squeaky wheel gets the grease and all.

-Dragon and Dungeon were(are) magazines. as handy and portable as pdf's are, it's still no replacement for hardcopy. try passing your laptop over a pile of minis, dice, pizza, books, etc., several times to illustrate your point during a session. easier to reference, collectile (to some), and perhaps most importantly, a tradtion.

-WotC, in an attempt to get modern, ie)save a buck by cutting off "dead weight" will effectively alientate a great majority of their patrons. the new electronic format will simply be cannibalized. that's probably why more and more ppl were simply downloading the magazines for free rather than buying them...ahem. this will not change w/ the new format. basically, killing most of Paizo sadly.

-if you go to Gencon, help put something together. Hell, it's like a politcal rally anyway. use it to your advantage. don't just be a hobbyist and say, "well, i'm sad it's gone." everyone else will too, but if you actually care, you can try and preserve this thing you love.
don't piss away this opportunity
