Squishy?
Mirror Image outshines High AC like a Star

then why would any wizard NOT take the Su Teleport Power???
if it negates one of the biggest weaknesses a full caster has?

Not to add fire to the oil bowl but ...

What if he also uses a silent to that still spell?
no talking and no gestures required ...

What about that concentrationcheck now?
still neccessary?

if yes, are you serious?

hard on the exploit side ... but yes

thx

Excuse me, but could someone elaborate how the GATLING is reloading his double barreled musket to shoot 14 times in a full round?

Rapid reload and lighting reload wont cut it. !!!

thx

Edit
i mean this build:

Aaaaand here is where I disagree.

I would interprete Displacement like a switching between 2 distinct Positions in Space really really fast.

So Rogue can SA the Target and will have SA Dmg if his 50% Roll hits.

SImple as that.

Where as true concealment will have the target so blurred up, the rogue doesnt have vital spots to aim for.

WoP is a good system but sadly lacks dev commitment.

The System as it is now only really supports spontaneous Blasters who, like the char i am playing like to be able to nit up a magic solution to a problem at hand. It wont be the perfect counter for XY situation but it will get the job done.

Aside from the blasting point, WoP has MANY issues.

two examples:
- first grp teleport is a slot 8 *lol*
- "dispel" version in WoP allows a save AND cant target Spell effects *how very nice ...*

This is not a hate-post
I love WoP, it is great step towards a good spellsystem but it needs more than love.

Anyone willing to moderate a thread to balance and expand this system just give me a call. SO lets stop the whine and start the work.

Well the Errata says Once per Spell no matter what

We house ruled an increasing Touch AC during the Cast ...
until yesterday...

The Burst from Fiery Shuriken which gave u potentially 8 SA Attacks was just too much.

Once per Spell on the other Hand seemed like a huge nerf.
I created the AT I am playing around that very concept so yes tears were shed.

After a big discussion within the group we agreed to let it scale of of BaB Attacks.
So, a Caster who has 2 BaB Attacks may apply 2 Rays of one Spell with SA, simple as that.
Easy to apply and still scaling somewhat.
(the continuous condition for SA must still be met, else just one SA on the first SPell)

@jlighter: best "Fiery Shuriken" Combo would be Cl15 and a "Rod of lesser quicken magic" in Hand :-)

Thought so ...
now where exactly is that ranged Touch Attack involved, that this thread is all about?

You just stated an example for "Suprise SPells" the lv10 AT Feature,
and as far as I interpret this Feature you applied it wrong also (just once per Spell is allowed)

pls explain your math on 50d6 dmg with ball lightning from an Arcane Trickster ...

However ...

I can not find a legitimation for frost fingers having no save if used with selected targetword.

In fact i only see burning flash that explicitly denies the save if only one target is hit.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Finally someone else taking a dive at WoP
nicely written so far (still reading)

I especially like your approach to different interpretations on the wording in this system.

all true, in consideration of game progression, yet the monsters from mid to high game have quite a view ways denying the setup for SA.
any Uncanny Dodge will do, see invis, true vision, life sight, silence/Antimagic you name it.
So again this is one that looks OP on Paper but since its quite circumstantial they still fall back compared to a physical damage dealer.
They have their circumstantial limited ressource bursts and thats it.

That is why my current GM and I somewhat balanced the Touch-AC issue (see first post)
Though I see that as just another adjustment to a rule that should have layed this issue out in its baseline.

Your interpretation of the FAQ seems valid.
Thereof i fail to see the logic of the FAQ.

If the generel Rule of SA is "if SA condition is in effect, the attack can use SA"
Then why cripple it all of a sudden with spells?

Would he shoot Arrows he'd get SA on all Hits.

SA classes' main source of dmg is SA be it applied by physical or magical effects.

I am sorry it does not make sense to me.

The ruling besides the FAQ says, the first Hit disables the SA condition, thereof only the first Ray gets SA.

If you look for ways to keep the denied Dex. Bonus on the target, to apply Sa on all Rays look for greater invis, or attacking from within a fog using those fancy fog lenses.
A 20g smokestick could be your friend.

Regarding the Multiple Attacks from a Spell and SA.

My current GM and I are in agreement, that no matter the Source of the multiple Attacks, unless the "Dex denied" condition is continuously present, only the first Attack gets SA.

We also "balanced" Spells that use this to apply SA so that in Case multiple SAs are possible, the Target Touch AC increases by 1 cumulativly due to "aiming" ^^.

That is to prevent/hamper some wiseguy Ninja/Sorc CL15 with Forgotten Trick and a lesser Quicken Spell Rod from pulling of
24 Sneak Attacks, doing 24x(1d8 + SA-Dice Damage) + doing 24DEX/or STr dmg (pressure points), SA-Dice Bleed, prevent AOO, all that in 1 Full Round.
*yes pls stop drooling*

Spell used was "Fiery Shuriken"
SA Condition: either Initiative-WIn or greater invis

Exactly, low lv casters benefiot from it, especially all the Tier1 feats i listed make a great toolbox for situations that require that certain. +DC or the scorching ray in lightning form against a cheliaxian low devil horde ^^

I'd like to see an official comment or more in general if possible.

true
and what Clv would that sorc have to be to cast that?
;-)

jep lv 16 since its an 8th lv slot

by that time up against enemies who either laugh about the DC or are able to tank through that

stacking the feats is however a good point of adjustment
thx

PathFinder Sudden Metamagic

Paizos general exclusion of sudden feats is for fans of the spontaneous cast a strike to the heart. Being aware that these feats in their original form were quite strong,
i tried to come up with a solution that doesnt kill game balance and still looks attractive for the
sorc/bard/oracle etc.

A sudden modification may be decided at the time of casting, but only if the caster has currently 0% arcane spell failure.
Sudden Feats may only be used by spontaneous casters, in case of Multiclass-Casters only for the spontaneous Slots.
In general all sudden modifications to a spell may be used 1/day/3sudden-feats with a max.mod.limit of 2 meta-feats per spell cast. Each individual sudden feat may be used only twice a day no matter how many sudden feats you know. You may not use the same feat twice on the same spell beeing cast.
Example1: if u have 1-2 sudden feats you may cast 1x a spell with 1 modification
Example2: 5 sudden Feats -> 1x2modifications + 2x1modification or
Example3: 7 sudden Feats including Overload -> 1x3modifications
If a class-feature grants you a specific or general Meta-Feat you may substitute that one for a Sudden-Feat but only for your spontaneous Spellslots.

The feats below are a reference to the original Metafeats by Paizo except as noted.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------

FEATS:
-preqs:
-description:

Silent/Still/Merciful/Bouncing/Disruptive/Elemental*/Focused/Lingering/Inte nsified/Selective/Enlarge/Extend:
Min.CL: 5
-slot increase none

Ectoplasmic/Persistent/Sickening/Thundering/Heighten/:
Min.Cl:7
1 sudden-feat
-slot increase X +1 "or in case of Heighten-Spell the actual Spelllevel"

Dazing/Reach/Widen/Empower/:
Min.Cl:9
2 sudden-feats
-slot increase X + 2

Quicken/Maximise:
Min.Cl:11
3 sudden-feats
-slot increase X + 3

Sudden-Overload:
Min.Cl 13
4 sudden-feats
Once a day you may load a up a spell with as many different sudden-feats as you know limited only by increase in spellslots you must provide.
Usage of this feat eats up all sudden usages for that day. You are fatigued for minutes/spellslots used.

*If the caster gains benefits through other means for using a certain elemental-type he can apply those benefits to the spell as well.
