As both a player and Dm I prefer having XP allocated. This idea of DING oh look I have levelled doesn't seem to tell the story of how your character has thought through the challenges set infront of him. It tells the story of lets all turn up, not contribute as much as that guy across the table and we will level up all at the same time.
Whats the point in Roleplaying then if that's the case.
I am currently playing in Second Darkness and the DM uses the AP level up at this point, and to me just seems so lame.

Completed playing in a campaign using the Rules Cyclopedia about a month ago, okay for a little delve into the past every now and again, used to own all the box sets and most of the scenarios, my two favorites are Nights Dark Terror( being English myself ) and Red Arrow Black Shield.

Hi, I'm Mike was Dming the ROTR AP for the last few years until I moved to Hull.

Played through the basic D&D set 2nd ed, 3rd ed, shadowrun, harn, cthulu and chill am involved with a group very new to RPG's playing the good ole fashioned Rules cyclopedia set very basic very limited but the DM is making it fun am trying to get them to play a scaled down version of Pathfinder. ( to no avail )

I allowed the party to skirt round the edges of the thistles along the western edge till they reached the rope bridge.
Of course that meant them missing much of the fun on the way in, but on the way back that whole encounter was ready for them.
My players thoughts where sod that why should we be railroaded into the tunnels lets go round. So you could use that excuse medlii, have a look closely at the western map edge its clear of greenery till they reach the bridge.

In no particular order:-

Cave Fisher
Deurgar
Mimic

my apoligies for lack of posting but my pc has gone down trying to get it fixed asap hope to be back soon DM NPC me till i return please

Well for me the quality of the AP's. Have just finished Dming Burnt Offerings with my group of six players, and what normally happens is someone else will then run a game be it Traveller Harn Shadowrun 2nd ed D&D or whatever as we go round the table until it comes back to me again, but they are loving it soo much that I have just started Skinsaw Murders, all of this is happening in the middle of awaiting a work transfer to another city, and they all are wanting to get the most out of the scenarios whilst I am still with them.

Also it has to be the other players throughout the world that have given so much to the message boards to all the Dm's writing up their campaign Journals for whatever AP.

Sniff sniff alas poor cleric. I know the feeling went through Temple of Elemantal Evil myself with a mage named Fredigar Cripps all those years back when 3rd ed just came out and the dm is playing a half orc kick ass barbarian in my Burnt Offerings.

He was the only guy to originally survive into the nodes everyone else had 4 or more character changes lolololololol.

I believe that the old light has a greater part to play in later AP's though I gave my party permission to enter some of the ruins via a key that allowed limited access to some rooms below thus saving the remainder for the later AP.On the fly I had a couple of rooms that where being used by an Ethereal Filcher( MM pg87 3.0 or pg104 3.5 ) as its lair.
I'm still a 3.0 guy :)

As for Choppers Isle there is Deneks Campaign Journal that I used for inspiration I would recommend having a scan through all of the Journals they are a blast and a great source of ideas for those DM mental blocks we all get.

Just a quick question DM are you using the scalable XP from the 3.5 DMG or the static XP from the ruleset (In my game i'm using the scalable as I dont see why a 5th lvl should get the same amount of xp for killing a goblin as a 1st lvl)

Just an addition to the above post you could place that adventure idea on Grubber's Hermitage just off Sandpoints coastline. I have been wondering what to do with that named isle for some time now, as for the Dragons Punchbowl thats for another time.

I bloody love Pathfinder so much so that I am selling all my 3rd and 3.5 material to a local gaming store bit by bit.Or giving some of it away as I expect to be moving soon aswell. For those of us fans in the UK the best place I have found for pathfinder is the Orcsnest shop in London fantastic online and quick delivery too.

Check it out.

Don't know diddly about the Legacy of Fire stuff so that helps I have my own party of 6 going through Burnt Offerings at moment so it will give me a chance to be on the plqaying side

This is my 1st ever post wahoo. I'm DMing and was wondering if anyone had any ideas for the repeating crossbow up for sale with the name VANSAYA enscribed upon it.

Would like to congratulate the Paizo team for a new outlook on D&D and the ROTR AP and all the other contributors that inspire me on the forums.
