Thanks everyone!

I didn't realise that about neg level in PF - good to know! I'll make some adjustments accordingly and then let them carry on levelling normally and hopefully it should all balance out.

:)

Hi all,

I've been running a 3.5 campaign for a while and have decided to switch over to Pathfinder because it seems easier to manage. Think I've successfully made the switchover with all my PCs on board, but now I have a question about awarding XP.

I seem to recall that in 3.5 you award XP depending on PC level - i.e., the lower the PC's level, the more XP they get for the encounter (because it's more difficult). I can't seem to find anything about this in Pathfinder - it looks like everyone gets the same amount of XP regardless of level.

I've got a couple of PCs who have died and lost a level, or gained a neg level from previous encounters, meaning that my party of 5 is made up of 3x level 6 PCs and 2x level 4 PCs. If they all end up getting the same XP award after fighting a Harpy, for example, how do the level 4 PCs have a hope of catching up with the level 6 PCs?

Thanks!
