I have never played a character that had a familiar. I've had the option a couple of times, but have never done it all the way back to AD&D Magic-Users...

I now have a 6th-level Asmocean Advocate in Way of the Wicked. I realize that my education on this particular part of the game is sadly lacking, and I really have no idea how to MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE that I am doing it correctly.

Can someone please go slowly, step-by-step, through what I need to do to create this little guy?

I have an character with 1st and 2nd level cleric spells about to go into a situation where it would be advantageous to not be caught lying.

I know that I could cast an Eagle's Splendor for the enhancement bonus to charisma.
Is there a spell that specifically affects bluff?

I would like to build a 'real' sniper character for an upcoming game. I have built and used archers in several games who put out a lot of damage because they are taking a lot of shots. The concept here is stealth, shoot, stealth.

I need to pack a respectable (if not fantastic) amount of damage into a single shot each round.

Concept so far is gnome with swift as shadows alternate race trait with levels of fighter, ranger, and/or rogue. Fighter levels would (possibly) use the crossbowman archetype, ranger levels would use crossbow combat style, and rogue would (almost certainly) be sniper archetype.

I would like suggestions on feats, traits, etc that would help me approach the concept while still being a viable character.
