Shadow Lodge

I'd like to see Ratfolk and Catfolk as options. Sad to see Gillmen off the table. I've always wanted to play one of those. Specifically because of all the drowning... Sylph, Undine and Vanaras would be interesting. Would love some kind of were-critter, but that's never going to happen. :)

Shadow Lodge

Thank you for your response! I keep forgetting to check back here. I will contact the retailer and see if I can figure something out with them.

I'm not sure if it's the first edition but it is the 6th printing, March 2013.

Shadow Lodge

My Core Rulebook is misprinted! When you get to page 160, it jumps to pages 225-256 and then back to 161.
Is there a way to get a replacement? I did not buy it locally.

Shadow Lodge

Thank you! I just needed a definitive answer. :)

They have repeatedly said we can continue to play the characters used in the playtest but are we permitted to make new characters from the ACG after the Dec 17th deadline? The wording, to me, implies that we may only continue with the characters used from before the deadline.
Sorry if this is redundant but I can't find this specific answer anywhere (possibly because I'm making a distinction that isn't there, but my GM is unclear on it as well so I finally have to ask.).

Edit: here is the FAQ
Trip: When a prone character stands up and provokes an attack of opportunity, can I use that attack to trip the character again?

No. The attack of opportunity is triggered before the action that triggered it is resolved. In this case, the target is still prone when the attack of opportunity occurs (and you get the normal bonuses when making such an attack). Since the trip combat maneuver does not prevent the target's action, the target then stands up.

That's great to know! Thank you. ^^ I'll have to let my DM know as this has happened many many times (though none recently).

However, I still attack from the ground when an AofO would put me back under 0 on HP again. (As in, the reason I'm on the ground is not from a trip but from being knocked unconscious.)

Shadow Lodge

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Everyone probably already knows this, but when you end up on the ground as much as the members of my party do, attacking from prone is sometimes a viable option. It's -4 to hit (and -4 to AC) but, when someone has a tripping weapon, for me it's better to take what could be the final swing than stand up and get whacked AND tripped again.
And, yes, this is spoken like someone who spent almost an entire fight on the ground. (It was a Yuan-ti chainfighter in 3.0.)

Shadow Lodge

Could it be considered an evil action? Sounds like he just busted into a guy's room and straight up murdered him when he stood his ground...

Shadow Lodge

>_<; I should have just gone to bed, but, no, I thought, "What if they put it up at midnight?!?"... -_-; Now I just sit here refreshing and wishing I would have forgotten until morning.

Shadow Lodge

Ah. Okay. Thanks. :)

I have a quick question and, sorry if it's been asked before, but I am making an Aasimar Angelkin character and I am stuck on this point.
Angelkin receive a +2 racial bonus to Knowledge (planes) but this is a trained-only skill.
Do 1) you apply the +2 racial bonus when using Knowledge (planes) untrained
or 2) you cannot attempt to use Knowledge (planes) untrained regardless (the +2 magically appears after you have ranks in it)
Thank you for your help.

Do these mutations carry over to other forms such as a druid using the wild shape ability? (specifically interested in the keratin spikes)

No one else in my group has the cert so I'm at the mercy of the dice, too. We'll see what happens. ^^;

The sheet specifies that we may "use the experimental agents found near the vial to trigger a permanent mutation" but since we got the sheet without playing the scenario how do we do this? Wait until we play the scenario? Look for experimental agents in every game? (My DM will get sick of that...)

Shadow Lodge

I am most curious about mutagens given the Pathfinder kickstarter benefit. I don't know how we'll get access to or find "experimental agents" in our PFS game but I'm determined to drink that potion only after I've found them. Can we just wander around until we find an alchemist willing to spike our elixir for us (and pay them, of course)?
"When used at an official Pathfinder Society game table, drinking the elixir grants your hero the advanced simple template for the duration of the scenario. Alternately, the elixir can be spiked with experimental agents to trigger a beneficial permanent mutation randomly determined on a huge chart included on the certificate."

Here are some pics of my half-elf druid, Thalo. Her pics are a little skimpy as they were for a card set. I just wanted my character in there. :P
She wears leather armor now and I don't think technically she's allowed to have all those tattoos (though that might just be an old RPGA rule I'm thinking of). Otherwise, though, this is the basis for her. (On another note, originally she was going to be a character build that loved to be in trees... then I ran out of skill points so she has no climb... ^^; ha ha!) far left
Here's another one of Thalo with "Cat" her first animal companion. He died game before last so I guess a new card is in order with her new kitty.

We play at Changing Hands Book Shoppe in Joplin, Mo on the last Saturday of the month, 11 am. It's a public game so anyone is welcome to join. We are a low level group, however, ranging from level 2 (I think) to 4 so we can't accommodate a higher level character right now.
If you'd like more info, email me at manekochan@netscape.net
We're always looking for extra players for me to hide behind. :p
