Ok, so I was recently invited to a way of the wicked campaign an they are starting book 2 and are at level 6.

I wanted to make a build patterned after Undones sacred fist dex build taking advantage of AoO's but I got to thinking, what about trying it with straight Unchained Monk?

A couple of caveats however that may not apply to everyone but that my DM has allowed:

1) I get the starting gold for WBL so his gear is in place
2) He has granted all characters 2 extra skill points/level
3) He has allowed the MoMS archetype and I can use Style feats still with the exception of flying kick.
4) Yes I took UMD. I have extra skill points and took a trait. We have no arcane caster so I thought I would buy a wand or 2 of mage armor

Here is the build:

http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=286597

Basically, as I see it, In combat my role will be "Mobile Tank", not doing huge damage in one hit but getting many hits/round whenever I am missed or whenever I provoke an AoO.

Yes I know the the DM can just stop attacking me..fine. That doesnt mean I don't stop attacking.

Out of combat my role will be the lie detector with my high sense motive.

What are everyones thoughts? Is it as good as the sacred fist?

Hi folks,

I am playing a bard through wotw as the title suggests. We just hit level 5 and am seeking spell advice without too many spoilers.

I have read the bard guides but I can't help but wonder at this point in the campaign if some of the orange/red spells may become green/blue?

The regulars always help like haste and a few compulsions, cacophonous call etc. But I was wondering about more long terms subtler ones like lesser geas or malicious spite, beguiling gift? You know, the less combatty ones. Yes I know combatty is not a word.

Without giving to much away, am I right in my thinking these may be more valuable than in other AP's?

What are peoples thoughts on this?

Thanks for the input, if any.

Who should be the 4th member on the way out?

OK, after much back and fourth three of us are pretty set in our roles for an upcoming way of the wicked campaign.

Our fourth still can't decide what she wants even after I offered suggestions based on community help.

So she's decided to base it on what is best paired up with the above 3 classes for this particular adventure and then make it her own from that.

Any suggestions?

Hey guys,

I stated in another thread I'm going to be doing way of the wicked in a couple of months. The party cleric decided she really likes the mechanics of the shaman and would prefer to play that.

We are a group pretty much all for "play what you want" but we do like the rp to work.
So, why would a shaman want to help Asmodeus, or work for him, or do whatever it is we are supposed to do for him? What would her motivation be?

I read wiki and other googled stuff on shamans with her so pretty much spirits are their main shtick, just as it says on the ACG write up.

But we've come up short on how this type of class would even want to work with Mr. Uptight orderly, suppress the weak asmodeus?

Help us think outside the box? Any good rp suggestions? The best we can do is she is wanting to guide as many souls to hell as possible. But why would she?

Hi guys, my gaming group and I are getting way too excited to start this AP and its still a couple months away(currently in rise of the runelords).

Anyway I have come up with a build I wouldn't mind several different eyes looking at to see if its overall achieving what our group needs.

I'm not adverse to wholesale class changes either that's why I came here, to hear others views, especial if you have played the AP.

Currently we will be having a brainless half orc barbarian, a second for sure melee player who is leaning towards dual wield slayer, a mystic theurge using the FAQ ruling on SLA for early entry, and myself.

I'm thinking we need a face man, scout , ranged type of guy so this is what I can up with.

What are your thoughts? Different archetype? Different class needed?

This is not going to be what you think.

I love casters, I've played sorcerers, wizards and witches and will be embarking on my first cleric in a couple of months after we are done current campaign.

In the two campaigns I'm in now though I've tried to set up debuffs and battlefield control. I love that.

The problem is, by the time I've spent a round on haste, then a round on summons and or a control or debuffs, the martial have destroyed things and come my initiative I am resigned to saying " you guys seem to have this under control " whereupon I get to put up with friendly jibes of "when you gonna pull your weight'

Let's be honest... Haste is nice but they would have torn &%!t up without it.

The two campaigns I'm in are not home brew, one is WotR, the other is RotRL.

In both we are around half way and in both I'm wondering what it would be like to hang with the cool melee guys.

What am I missing? Yes they are optimized but so am I. Do these AP's just make it easy on martials?

Do things get harder for them after 11+ maybe and I'm being impatient? Even if that's the case, it sucks I feel useless for the first half of my career.

Lol, I'm not even sure what I'm asking. Just typing out loud I guess.

Hey guys,

Starting a WotW campaign in a couple months and I'm going to be a cleric of asmodeus.
I'm really interested in the exalted prestige class but am having trouble figuring out the most "convenient" way to do his obedience each morning. It almost seems not worth it.

For those who don't know, you have to carve into an unwilling subject, drain blood into a bowl, draw a pentagram with that blood, and pray on it.

The hard part is the unwilling subject. What are others doing to make it work.

Thanks for any advice.

Hey folks, my regular gaming group does two sessions and I'm in one of them. We recently added two more players to it making it 6 players where as the second campaign only has 4 so I am moving over to that one.

The campaign is rise of the runelords, they are at level 9. The group consists of a reach cleric, a battlefield control sylvan sorc with a wolf companion(with boon companion), a fighter/rogue(going more rogue), and an archer ranger.

What, in your professional opinion does this group need for a fifth?

I trust you read the title? ;)

First a quote from the SRD:

"An attack of opportunity "interrupts" the normal flow of actions in the round. If an attack of opportunity is provoked, immediately resolve the attack of opportunity, then continue with the next character's turn (or complete the current turn, if the attack of opportunity was provoked in the midst of a character's turn)."

So thanks to paizo forum user Undones excellent warpriest advice I made a Dex based sacred fist. My question is this. If I go to charge an opponent, but I charge through a threatened square and that enemy gets his AoO, my panther fang kicks in and I get free AoO.

Do I get to finish my charge? The last line states " or complete the current turn"

Thanks for any clarification.

Ok, so I tried my hand at GMing but found I did not have it in me so we have made a switch and back to being the player I go.

We are going to do Wrath of the Righteous but without the mythic tiers.

In the group we have a paladin(who will likely be the *star* of the show), a two hander barbarian, a slayer and a blaster sorcerer.

All heads turn to me and I hear "That makes you the healer" ugh....I love this group as people and we have fun so this is not a whine thread.

What I am asking is, this group expects healing in some capacity but I want to try something a little different then a cleric. We love to roleplay and the GM expects clerics to have gods and I just cannot get into that. I am really interested in the shaman. I was thinking of the heavens spirit as my main and then I can choose life that morning if we know we may be in for trouble that day.

But, what other classes would be a good choice for this party makeup? A second paladin is not an option, the GM wants only one. We have enough melee damage and we have our blaster. Archery is boring as heck so I would prefer to stay away from that.I am not that familiar with the campaign so not sure what would work. I always play an arcane so I am familiar with spell casting and so if I have to heal I would prefer to be a full caster.

I guess that leaves me with
-Cleric (ugh)
-Shaman (what I am thinking)
-Druid (a strong contender)
-Oracle

maybe there are archetypes I am missing that could make the above work better as well.

I know I wrote and asked a lot but any brainstorming would be appreciated. Thanks folks!

Hi guys,

I am turning to the community to critique this build. I've found snippets of advice regarding the martial master archetype and the whole idea intrigues me about a really versatile mundane that can adapt to a lot of situations.

The idea is he carries several weapons with him based on his need. Reach, ranged, big 2 hander for dmg, etc.

What can be done to tweak him into min max perfection?

Here is the build for your critique:

Thanks for any help.. Or is this just a poor idea to try?

Hey folks,

A buddy is starting up a jade regent campaign and I'm looking for advice for the 4th party member.

Currently we have 2 barbarians,and a cavalier.

Here's the thing...I'm not at all interested in divine magic and I always.....always play arcane in the groups.

I'm not adverse to half casters or 2/3 casters but would like to avoid full ones.

Any advice on what would work well with an all melee group in this particular campaign?

Thank you for any help you can give. Oh...and the GM banned leadership if that makes a difference so we can't fill any gaps that way.

Hi guys, one of my players has made a barbarian/oracle to take advantage of the no fatigue. Currently they are ninth level. I have a swashbuckler villain I threw at them.

Let me describe the situation now. He enlarges, and has his reach/tripping weapon. I move in (swashbuckler) and can't beat his CMD so he trips.

I kip up. He says he attacks with AoO. I say that it doesnt provoke. He counters with the fact that he had unexpected strike.

Is this true? Because then he proceeded to end rage... Start rage.... Trip.... Unexpected strike. Repeat. Til I died.

I couldn't beat his monster trip CMB. Can unexpected strike pretty much ignore kip up? I thought you had to enter the threatened area... But I'm already in it.
I'm fairly new to GMing so seeking advice.

Thank you
