![]() Yeah, I don't think anyone would call themselves a barbarian, unless it was to mock someone they had defeated or similar - "look at you, beaten by a mere barbarian". It's a (semi-)derogatory term applied to others. The other option is to refer to where you come from, perhaps. If we take the historical example of the Romans, they considered the modern day French, Germans, British and Scandinavians as barbarians (amongst others!), but ask any of those people 'who are you?' and they would be a Gaul, a Tuton, a Cimbri, and so on. You might think that's a different kind of context, but it could also apply here - people would have an understanding of what a 'Northman' is considered to be, etc, and apply it well enough to make a judgment. I wasn't quite clear what you thought about Druids, by the way. In this game I would probably just say 'I'm a woodsman' and leave it at that. ![]()
![]() Here we go, then. Gill Baverly, a male human druid with a drive to take on all manner of physical challenges, and who has taken a vow to never write anything down, for fear of weakening his memory. Spoiler:

This one for Hollow's Last Hope, with Virgil and Hadassah Rabunrot ![]()
![]() Confirming for DaWay's AP (any) and Capt's intro module. For Hollow's Last Hope: I will roll up this evening my time, but I intend to roll a male human druid (which I think should fit with the Paladin and Summoner as requested). For the AP: I will wait and see if I get to play and what other people prefer to play before deciding myself. ![]()

Mmm. Thanks for the link. It's pretty late at night here so I will post up a proposed build tomorrow, but it's great to see the interest so far! ![]()
![]() I'm also new to the PbP format and have been watching for a suitable recruitment thread for a while, so here I am, registering my interest. I'm located in Copenhagen, so that's GMT +2 at the moment with summertime whatnot. I could certainly handle a one or two posts per day type of game, although a slower pace would also be quite fine. Character-wise, I would quite like to have a go at a divine caster, but honestly, I don't have a strong preference. The same goes for the theme of game, I would be very happy to try most things. ![]()
![]() Hi all :) I'm hoping to start up a campaign with my wife, I'll be the DM and she will play. The chosen game is going to be Pathfinder (we took a look at 4E but it didn't really appeal). Neither of us have much experience, but it's pretty obvious that most D&D variants seem to be balanced around party size of about 4-6, which is obviously an issue with just one player. I'd really like to hear the thoughts of more experienced gamers (basically all of you) about whether we should aim for a scaled down game of say 1 PC and one hired companion, try to play 4 PCs with the 1 player for a balanced party, or something in between. I'm not really sure what the relative merits of the different options are. All help appreciated! As an FYI, we were thinking about running the Paizo mod Hollow's Last Hope for an easy intro. |
