Ok.. I'm new to the game and was given my first wondrous item of my choosing, worth no more than 10,000gp.. I'm a lvl 9 sorcerer, and so my first instinct was to grab something that boosted my charisma.. my current charisma score is 21 and i was thinking about the headband of mental prowess.. something like +2 charisma... but my friend was just telling me that although the +2 helps my modifier towards skills and DC's and Saves, it doesn't grant me the extra Spells per Day that having a natural charisma of 23 would get... Is this true? I mean i realize it's only 1 extra spell per day, but i could use it.. lol.. and i also get an extra 5th lvl spell with a cha of 23... But i've been looking everywhere for this rule and i couldn't find it.. so i took it to the forums...
what do you guys think? is it an actual rule? if so, has any GM allowed for the bending of this rule?
