Hello, all!

I'm running a 1e game with heavy homebrew. 10 sessions in, my players decided they wanted to podcast our adventures. Sweet! The Community Use rules were super helpful.

As part of this endeavor, though, we'd like to draw it, too. Well, I would, and they are quite excited about this. I know the interface is safe: nothing more than banner ads, MAYBE a Patreon someday.

My question is, how much homebrew is allowed on Paizo materials within the CU rules? I have Sarenrae and Desna, for instance, but they're sisters in this setting. We visualize manifestations, sometimes including holy symbols, differently - not to mention my art style is, obviously, different from the Paizo work. I also heavily modify lore, so that maybe the only things remaining are names and core themes. Toto is not in Golarion anymore.

I'm also wondering how the Community Use rules apply to 3rd party publishers (the paid ones). Do their abilities feed into Paizo's? If I have the Paizo CU down, am I okay for, say, Kobold Press?

tl;dr: Does radically changing published material for homebrew count as "fanfiction," making it permissible under the CU rules, and do the CU rules cover other commercial publishers?

Thank you so much for the help!
