Well Bladebound is mostly for the fluff and rp reasons. And the GM might have a lot of fun with the sword beeing sentient. And as for the length, it's going to last as long as we actually want to. Wich may be a long time, or might be 1 sessions if something goes wrong, but I'm thinking a long time probbly, I'm aiming for the top levels. I will not be multiclassing at the first levels, maybe I'll take something later(the cleric/magus/mystic theurge) looked at least like great fun. But as of now, it's a pure magus I'm running with. I was thinking on switching to the staff magus, but I really want that sword. kensai/bladebound could have been cool, it hurts to loose all those options,(like spell recall) But it would have been fun btw is it smart to take fiend flayer? I can't seem to find any negative parts in it, and as you can mix around with archtypes it seems like just an extra option
well, the moonlight dance looks kinda cool, as I have acsess to spells I guess a concealment spell shouldn't be that hard.
Only problem is I'm kinda feat starved early. As I use my level 1 and 3 feat on dervish dance and weap finesse. And I'm probably going to need toughnes in level 5 and then I'd need another two to qualify for the first moonlighter.

while this is true, there are limited ways to fix it unless he can change. Change is best, optinal games are a great way(but a lot of work) if he's been doing this for a long time, odds are he's doing it because he's having fun doing it. So forcing him to change might be a long way around him just leaving because he can't do what he wants. Not an easy problem at all, I agree.
rolled stats, core tiefling.
Melee oracle, half orc with 20 str
So we do have ppl with high str. It's not needed in the group. But I can't seem to decide.
sounds like a douchebag to me, that gets his fun by irritating other players. If he's a good friend of yours I'd talk to him, if he's just someone you play with, I'd say it's tome to cut him loose, sounds to me that he's done more good the harm, and if you keep on letting him, he probably won't stop. You can always have fun with a small group, while looking for a new player. I do know of your problem, difference is, we would just kill him and tell him to relroll. rince/repeat until he learns or leaves. But then again we're mostly fallout/homemade players, wich have a high death ratio, and none of us have any problems with players doing this, but we're a group that thrives on invidualistic playing, and none of us do this all the time to anoy anyone, it's just different types of characters. This guys sound slike one character that always is out to be a pain in the arse. I'd say either fix him(he'd likely not find playing ordianry as fun though and might leave by himself) boot him(might be best option) or play something other then dnd now and then wich could give him an outlet to play something destructive(works very well for us, and is great fun for all. Everyone needs to let out some steam or be destructive sometimes, battle royale single shots are great for this) Good Luck with your problem, I'm having my first DnD session on friday since 3.5 hope it'll be fun. Full good group, exept and evil witch, chaotic evil... He's most likely die, as we have a CG magus/oracle and a palla, all strong willed players.
So, I'm going to play a Thiefling Bladebound magus as of the next weekend. And I'm wondering if I should go for dervish(dex)build with a scimitar.
stats are 17
so as a dervish I'm going to have 19 dex, 19 int, 14 str and 15 con. Very nice as a str I'm going to have 19 int, 17 str, 15 con, and 16 dex not as nice, but still very good stats. some input would be great, as of now, I'm leaning towards the dervish, but I always enjoy a good str stat when I'm a melee class, but the crit for a scimitar is going to be very formidable.(I never crit though) so yeah what would you guys do. Hope for some responses. And any advice for magus on general that you think are relevant. |
