I 100% agree. The original plot for the first 2nd edition AP, in fact, was "The PCs get a ship in the first adventure and it becomes their traveling home as they explore the Inner Sea region," but some folks worried that having a ship would be too much for newcomers to the game to keep track of or that it wasn't "classic fantasy" so we shifted that plot to a castle.
It would have been INCREDIBLY COOL, but I also understand the concerns.
A flying ship, though... ;)

But people wanted to go somewhere new. Which, ironically, only ended up teasing rather than satisfying. Ah well. I hope I was not misunderstood: me and my players are really, really enjoying both the setting and the AP, but sometimes I have to have NPCs (like N'Ketiah or Belmazog*) remind them of the "you have the key to the next aiudara in the Ring", since they like spending time in Breachill hanging with the NPCs, enhancing the fortress, managing the adventurer's academy they're opening in Citadel Altarein and improving the community. Also, they really want to go to Elidir. :)
*Yes, they defeated Belmazog and brought her back to Breachill (it's winter now, so she practically lives under three layers of fur clothing). The cleric of Shelyn is using his downtime to help her cope with her lost faith by helping her channel her energy towards artistic pursuit. Having her play with his children also helps.

James Jacobs wrote: We haven't done much on Isger, but the point of Age of Ashes was not to stay in Isger. The Adventure Path is no more set in Isger than it is set in the other 5 locations that adventures 2–5 are focused on.
Age of Ashes was and is intended to be a "world tour" of the Inner Sea region, since this was a huge opportunity for us to introduce the world to a lot of new players, thanks to it being the first Adventure Path in the edition.
I totally understand that!
Players being players, though, they grew really attached to their new "home", and are trying to know more about Isger and the fact that Breachill is so different than the rest of the nation.
Also, the bard of the group is member of the Steel Falcons, and he's praising the government of the town (being elective) and using Voz's bookshop (which they acquired the right to manage from the city council) to spread pamphlet about the virtue of democracy.
Beside a future adventure in Elidir concerning Hedvend's Thrune Contract, I'd like to know more of Isger, so I can judge how the nation would react having seditious propaganda spread around. :D
Hi everybody!
I'm currently running Age of Ashes (the PCs just arrived in Cypress Hill and are enjoying themselves A LOT, they don't have much sympathy for slavers), and I'm having a lot of fun.
The only problem I have with it is... the adventure is set in Isger and yet we have nothing on Isger proper, and also nothing like a gazetteer of Elidir (the place where PCs are likely to go). I'm currently preparing for a side-quest concerning Hedvend VI's Throne Contract, and I really can't find anything useful on the capital of Isger anywhere (even the Inner Sea Guide has just a very small paragraph).
How can I find some more information on Elidir? Really, my only gripe with AoA is not having a guide to the nation where the AP is set. :D
Thank you. Kind as always. :)
Hello,
Unfortunately, I can't afford it anymore.
Could you cancel my Adventure Path Subscription as soon as the current AP (Skulls and Shackles) has ended? :(
Thank you in advance.

Hello,
I'm sorry, but for economic reasons I have to cancel my Pathfinder Campaign Setting and Pathfinder RPG subscription. :-/

Hello!
I'm one of the translators for the Italian edition of Pathfinder.
While translating the Player's Guide, I found two adjectives concerning the people of Brevoy: one is "Brevan" (seldom used, only in the Player's Guide and the Brevoy primer), the other is "Brevic" (much more common, even in other works).
Which one's correct? Are they both referring to people and object coming from Brevoy?
I'd like to have an official answer, if possible... :-)

I think Massimo, Nadir_Sharpblade and all the others already said everithing that should be said.

Pad Shiro, it seems your're just being quite uncooperative: you never answered any of the subsequent posts, posts that were making good points. Bursting in a thread ignoring what everyone is saying is... I think the best word is "rude". :-/

Council of Thieves translation is to be concluded this month, we have most of the Companions ready, the GMGuide is in its "trimming" phase (to avoid breaking the two-page format most of the articles have), tha APG is currently under revision.
The most time-consuming work is what follows the translation: editing and making up.
Anyway, I spent a whole day working at Wyrd Edizioni stand (on saturday) and meeting Sarah Robinson was quite a honor. :-)
The Italian Core Rulebook and the Bestiary sold very well. I think there were very few remaining, on the last day of the con. ;-) when i said the traslators i meant the whole process of publishing a book, not just the translation itself, sorry for the mistake :)
(p.s. spero di poter comprare presto la GMG e l'APG in Italiano:D ) Don't worry, no offense taken. :-)

My players do. 4d6, three series, keep the one you like most.
As a GM, I prefer using the basic scores presented in the Core Rulebook, tweaking them to create a slightly stronger or weaker opponent: much more fast.
I did it... but in Italian. ^_^

In the case of a celestial/fiendish creature, you must speak Celestial or Abyssal/Infernal.
In case of creatures of the Animal subtype, you should cast speak with animals before summoning them.
In case of elementals, the appropriate elemental language.
And so on. :-)
Using Handle Animals to have your summon do what you want can be hard, especially at the first levels, since the DC to "push" an animal is 25...

I'll try to summerize the class:
Prerequisites: good alignement, Knowledge (arcana) 9 ranks, Knowledge (religion) 4 ranks; Blessed and Spell Focus (necromancy) feats; know at least three necromancy spells, two or more of 3rd level or higher.
Slow BAB progression
Good Will saves
+1 CL every level
1st level - Major arcana (casts speak with dead 3/day, no Powers Check); necromantic focus (one more prohibited school if necromancer, choose, choose two if not a specialist); purity (make a Power Check, you lose all benefit of the PrC except spell-like abilities, but they require Power Checks again); arcane lore (like bardic knowledge).
2nd level - Gets darkvision.
3rd level - Major arcana (fear 3/day, no Powers Check)
4th level - Shielded mind (+4 agains mind affecting)
5th level - Major arcana (undeath to death 3/day, no Powers Check); 3+Int spells have Powers Check probability cut in half (no evil spells)
6th level - Slow metabolism (+4 against disease and poison)
7th level - Major arcana (aura of terror 3/day, no Powers Check)
8th level - Though body (25% of ignoring critical hits and sneak attacks)
9th level - Major arcana (wraithform 1/day, no Powers Check)
10th level - Pure spells (1+Int new spells have Powers Check probability cut in half, those chosen at 5th level require no more Powers Check)
Some time ago I rewrote in 3.5 the white arcanist PrC found in Heroes of Light to make it... well... playable.
It's located here. It's in Italian, mind you. ^^

I've been using for a while a variant rule for Calibans, with different ability score bonuses and penalties and deformities, presented in an old issue of QtR... I always found it much more fit for such a diverse race.
